My life, captured in this photo. Just like this cereal bowl, my life is overflowing with responsibilities, blessings, and opportunities.

It’s poetic really, that my happy little toddler, trying his best to help me out, made a messy, yet fun, and somehow also aesthetically pleasing reminder, that even when life looks like a lot of work, or a mess I don’t want to clean up, it’s an opportunity nonetheless.

Today I chose to be grateful for a little chaos because it’s actually quite beautiful when you take a step back and see the making of a moment.

Halifax Health has partnered with this YMCA to provide a FREE Breastfeeding Support Group where mamas can come connect, get support and get some education from a lactation consultant. Enjoy it every Tuesday from 10:00-12:00!

As a breastfeeding mother myself, I experienced major pain from clogged milk ducts and repeated breastfeeding posture. Massage changed my whole breastfeeding journey.

As of now, I am breastfeeding my second baby, for 7 month strong, without a single clogged duct! 💪

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

It is an Active Assisted Stretch.

P: proprioceptors = sensory receptors relaying information about body position, motion and load

N: relating to nerves and muscles

F: to make easier the process of something

GOAL:
* Relationship between Proprioceptor & Brain communication reconciled
* (So that) Muscles hold more optimal and less dysfunctional positions
* Body Performs Better

How to complete a PNF:
1. Isolate the muscle group
2. Therapist applies passive stretch until muscle end feel. Release back a bit.
3. You push against therapist’s resistance with 10% effort.
4. We hold this for a few seconds
5. You relax while your therapist assists muscle into deeper stretch.
6. Repeat with deeper angles at each start.

It is the action of isolating and firing the muscles in slightly different positions that wakes up the proprioceptors and rekindles their relationship with our brain.

We do that, we get better mobility, less pain and greater function.
