Sometimes you just have to cut the cord. It’s taking me a long time to cut this cord.

Fostering Longevity and Foster Inc were babies. I had birthed for many many years.

But as we’ve created this other business called The IMMERSIV, giving people a truly immersive experience into what it feels like to take care of yourself, to feel better and live optimally, it was time to make the change official.

As of today, this Instagram account is now The IMMERSIV.

I’ve been wearing a weighted vest for years. The kind you buy on Amazon for less than $50. And I’ve recommended it to so many of you.

But here’s what I started noticing.

After a 15 to 20 minute walk in my 12 lb vest, my hip would hurt. Then I’d get home, walk up the stairs and things just felt… off.

12 lbs is about 10% of my body weight. The number I’ve heard recommended over and over again by people I follow.

But it wasn’t feeling good on MY body.

And the older I get, the more I realize we need to listen to that.

Last year at Eudēmonia, I met the team from Aion and tried on their walking vest and workout vest. I could immediately feel the difference. The way the weight was distributed. The compression against my body. It just felt different.

A few months ago we got one for Brian. He loved it.

I finally bit the bullet and invested in one for myself.

It’s definitely NOT the $50 Amazon vest. 😂

I’m 3 workouts in and so far… no hip pain. Nothing feels “off” afterward. I’m sweating more. And according to my Oura, I’m burning about 30 to 40% more calories during my workouts than I normally do.

Most importantly, my body feels good in it.

So I’m sharing because I’ve told so many of you to get a weighted vest over the years.

I still LOVE weighted vests.

I just learned that the vest itself matters more than I realized.
