25 years. Today I choose to honor those worth remembering! The innocent victims, their grieving families, the heroes who selflessly and so bravely chose to help others during such crisis, the first responders, and the entire community.
I remember wanting to drop everything and volunteer as a nurse in Ground Zero, but within just three-four days they had all the medical volunteers they had room for at that time. We all felt so helpless, but connected. I visited Ground Zero in October one year later and the site was still a dusty mess. There were people still posting flyers in search of lost loved ones; and I remember a chain-link fence filled with hand painted tiles and fresh flowers.
It’s easy to get caught up in the questionable cause of it all (by now we’ve all seen some evidence that that makes us scratch our heads), but today let’s HONOR & REMEMBER.🗽🇺🇸🙏🏾
