The weight that we’re carrying from hiding or not accepting maybe a weight we weren’t made to burden. And by sharing it and surrendering to it little by little, step by step, may be our key to breakthrough, or at least more peace in our lives.
I am just grateful for the support of my wife, my friends, and my relationship with God. Sometimes these extra things that we are carrying just add an immense amount of pressure to what we are already carrying, and it seems like just one more thing to be fearful of or shameful of or concern ourselves with. Breakthrough looks like walking boldly into our circumstances, having faith, surrendering control. I may not be done with my battle with this condition, but I am choosing not to be a slave to it anymore.
I share because many of us are quietly or secretly battling something that is weighing us down, and it could be that tipping point to everything else we are already carrying.
What I’m learning from this process.
I cannot be healed of what I have not surrendered.
This is testing my relationship with control.
How others perceive me carries too much weight.
Hiding only magnifies the weight of what we are actually experiencing.
I believe these setbacks or these problems God uses to refine and grow His children, and ultimately to draw nearer to us and cause us to depend on Him and not our own understanding or our own strength.
