• Today’s vivid corrective was a perfect example of why understanding the colour wheel matters.
We created a rich combination of
deep pink-red with extra metallic dimension and a bold teal blue—but first, we had to clean and balance the canvas and prepig the hair so the final look would be even, rich and long-lasting.
I gave myself three hours from consultation to finish, and finished with three minutes to spare.
When you understand pigment and tonal theory, you can move between vivids without unnecessary banding, muddiness or unevenness.
And because we properly prepared the canvas, these vivids should fade beautifully into a soft light pink and pastel teal.
Vivids should be beautiful on day one AND beautiful as it fades.
