Doula life means showing up for each other just as much as we show up for our clients 🤍

Yesterday I had the honor of stepping in to support one of AshLee’s amazing families while she was at another birth; because sometimes babies don’t space themselves out so nicely.

Two clients. Two labors. One incredible doula.
She made it to both births (because of course she did 💪), and I’m just so grateful to be part of a community that truly has each other’s backs.

It’s World Doula Week 🤍

And one of the most common questions I get is “Wait… what exactly is a doula?” or "What does a doula do?"

A doula is someone who walks alongside you through one of the most transformative seasons of your life.

We’re there to support you emotionally when things feel overwhelming, physically when your body is working so hard, and informationally so you can make decisions that feel right for you.

We’re not there to take over.
We’re there to ground you, support you, and remind you of your strength.

Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, whether your birth is fast or long, medicated or unmedicated; you deserve consistent, compassionate support.

I was called in for support in the quiet hours of the night, this labor progressed quickly and beautifully. With movement, comfort, and steady support, mom’s body moved with confidence and purpose.

An incredible birth and a strong start to this baby’s story.

Strength shows up in many form.

This mother met a long, demanding labor with determination, adaptability, and grit; doing everything she could to support progress, even when the path shifted. When it was time, she met her baby through surgery with the same strength and resolve that she showed during labor.

A powerful reminder that birth is about courage, not outcomes.
