3rd Annual Black Wellness Sunday was brought to you by the dream teams of & ✨🖤 it’s our love letter to our community during Black History/Futures Month. We hope that everyone who came was able to savor the time with each other, to rest, connect and heal. Much gratitude to our partners at Sankofa Counseling & practitioners of BPW—together we were able to provide guided somatic rest, flower making station, group acupuncture, ear bead acupressure, mini massages, journaling station, and delicious food by !!
We love you all and wish you all an abundance of good health & wellness.

We’ve always known that art is healing. And to make this space our own, our first step was to bring in art that reflects us, our cultures…now we’ve taken another step to magnify the power of art as medicine.

Paula Champagne’s mural graces our clinic’s wall- ready to embrace each person who walks in…right in time to celebrate our 5 year milestone & Black History/Futures Month. In the way that many good things happen in community, Paula was introduced to us through Essie Day Olou! Essie, an amazing massage therapist at Black Pearl Wellness and much more, made the introduction and we are so grateful she did!

Artist Statement:
“we are the sun” celebrates the healing and light we find in one another, and how our collective care can be rooted in our relationships with the earth and with each other.

Thank you Paula for sharing your creativity, artistry and magic with us!! This mural is such a vibe!!! To our beloved community- thanks for coming to celebrate with us & if you haven’t been in, we hope you get to see it soon, up close in person…so you too can see yourself in it. You can feel all the love that went into this creative expression of how we feel about creating this intentional healing space for community. Welcome Dr. Kiara Cordes!!! ✨Black Pearl Wellness is growing!!! We’re excited to have her join us to provide Acupuncture treatments at the clinic! Dr. Cordes is accepting New Patients on Mondays and Tuesdays. It’s time to jumpstart your wellness journey!

She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master’s in Acupuncture & certification in Natural Childbirth and Midwifery from NUMN.

Dr. Kiara likes to read a good book with her cat & enjoys exploring Portland’s food scene.
