Teresa* was pouring a highly concentrated herbicide when the bottle slipped, soaking both of her hands. Panicked it could absorb through her skin and terrified by the strong chemical smell, she was ready to rush to the ER. Instead, her boyfriend suggested a quick call to us. We immediately assessed the threat to her health, coached her through washing for 15 minutes, and told her the symptoms to watch for. Teresa stayed symptom-free, avoiding a trip to the ER.
