RADICAL COMPASSION – THE LIGHTHOUSE CIRCLE 🕯️

What if, instead of turning away from animal suffering, we could meet it with courage, presence, and love?

I’m opening a new online circle rooted in Tonglen, the Tibetan Buddhist practice of compassion.

Together, we will bear witness to animals who have suffered - and consciously offer our inner light and love to those still here and those who have already left their bodies.

We will not collapse into despair.
We will stand in the storm.
We will keep the light burning.

This is Radical Compassion.

Mark your calendar - September 5

Special opportunity — I don’t do this often anymore!

These days my time is mostly taken up by private sessions and online classes, but on September 5th I’ll be popping up in person at the Healing Arts Psychic Faire at the Ravenswing in Sellwood, offering mini animal communication sessions and energy readings for humans.

Watching your animal in a life-threatening situation changes you❗️

The past week with my senior dog reminded me how quickly life can change.

A frightening raccoon encounter was only the beginning. What followed were medical decisions, legal considerations, medications, vaccinations, sleepless nights, and learning just how differently an older dog’s body can respond.

One thing this experience taught me is the importance of asking questions.

Know the legal requirements where you live.

Ask which vaccine is being recommended, and WHY, what reactions to watch for, and whether there are different formulations or options that may be appropriate for your companion.

In routine situations, there is often time to discuss individualized approaches to preventive care.

Most of all, this reminded me how important it is to have a veterinary relationship built on trust, open communication, and partnership.

Thankfully, after many days of touch and go, Gunnar is recovering well, and my heart is slowly catching up with that reality. ❤️

Traveling without your animals can be surprisingly emotional—for both of you. ❤️

One simple practice I’ve found incredibly comforting is taking just five minutes each day to intentionally connect with your animal, no matter where you are in the world. Physical distance doesn’t have to mean losing your connection, and our animals often feel our loving presence more deeply than we realize.

Our latest Walking Between Worlds pet hospice workshop was everything I could have hoped for — a coherent, deeply present group who showed up with open hearts and real courage.

The conversations went to tender, true places, and I left in awe of what’s possible when people gather with genuine intention.

Grateful beyond words. 🌿
