Dr. Kirby is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Utah and Trinity College Dublin. She is one of the field's leading voices on su***de risk and prevention for Autistic people. This workshop draws directly on her latest findings - research conducted in true partnership with Autistic people, family members, and professionals - to help attendees broaden their approach to prevention and support long before a crisis occurs.
$35 general registration / $60 with 2 MPA CE credits
Live attendance is required to receive CE credits.
AANE can offer participants a reduced fee or free registration through the Jody Acford Memorial Fund. As long as space remains, no one requesting financial aid will be turned away. To request financial aid, send an email to [email protected]

A*O "Drop In" hours will be offered at the A*O office: 9320 SW Barbur Blvd, Suite 240, Portland, OR 97219 on:
Fridays, from 1pm - 4pm
No appointment needed during "Drop In" hours to stop by & talk to an A*O staff member about Autism resources!
Children are welcome! We'll have fidgets and sensory toys available.
There is free parking and the #12 Bus stops close to the building.

Please let us know in advance if you need to talk to someone in a language other than English.

We're happy to set up in person meetings by appointment outside of these hours, including in English and Spanish. Call our office at 503-636-1676 or send an email to [email protected] to make an appointment or with any questions.

A*O’s Autistic Professional Support Group

Meets every other Friday, from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

This support group provides a welcoming community for Autistic adults employed in professional positions to share business-related experiences and to solicit feedback and advice. This group is for Autistic, career-focused individuals who hold or have held mid to senior level positions and/or a position with at least 2 years of experience in their field.

The group offers an overall sense of belonging, group mentorship, and social connection. At each meeting there will be a guided topic to start the conversation which can lead to bigger discussions. This group is led by Dan Dickinson, an Autistic adult who works in a mid-level professional position. If you are unsure if this group is for you, please contact us to discuss and we’ll figure it out.
