My hearing has suffered from decades of playing loud drums with hit-or-miss use of proper hearing protection. I had an absolutely outstanding experience getting my hearing tested and custom-molded ear plugs made by Mt. Hood Hearing and have recommended them to bandmates, friends, and family.Vlad is a thorough expert and does an outstanding job explaining things, including educating me in response to my nerdy, granular questions. His own experience as a musician and audio engineer meant we could speak the same language, and for that reason alone I would urge any musician to at least come in for testing to get a current baseline. But really, Mt. Hood Hearing helps people of all ages to hear better for longer in life, so they truly can do it all, regardless of what help you’re after.Ordering high-quality custom earplugs was also a breeze. I wish I had done this years ago because off-the-shelf ear plugs, no matter the price tag, just do not compare to the combination of protection and audio quality possible with customs.The whole team here has been extremely friendly, accommodating, and great to work with. Customer experience is clearly their highest priority, in everything from the convenient scheduling and text reminders to complementary snacks in the lobby. Madison and Bret also helped me and were thorough, kind, and knowledgeable.
