Dr. Hibbitts’ path into medicine began during a trek in a remote region of the Andean highlands, where he encountered children so lacking in access to care that they asked for medicine instead of candy or toys.
After quickly exhausting his backpacker first aid kit, he became aware of the immense unmet need in global health—an experience that ultimately led him to join the U.S. Peace Corps.
He went on to serve for over two years as a public health volunteer in Guinea, West Africa, working closely with village medical staff in a small rural community.
During this time, he also learned from a local Karamoxo (traditional healer), gaining exposure to a deeply practical understanding of medicinal plants. This dual experience shaped a philosophy of care that integrates the strengths of both naturopathic and conventional medicine.
After returning home, Dr. Hibbitts attendED the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, training in regenerative injection therapy—including prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and stem cell-based treatments.
In recent years, Dr. Hibbitts has continued to advance his work in regenerative and orthobiologic medicine through extensive post-graduate training, with a particular emphasis on ultrasound-guided injection techniques to improve precision and outcomes.
As an endurance athlete himself, he has personally relied on these therapies to stay active, bringing a practical, firsthand understanding of both injury and recovery into his clinical work.
He has also pursued advanced training in psychedelic-assisted therapy, with a focus on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and emerging psychedelic modalities.
