We're grateful to Portland NAACP 1120 Branch for continuing the African American Initiative and Worship in Pink, to Pink Lemonade Project for taking the Treatment Access Program and the MBC Dinner Series, and to Northwest Family Services for taking on leadership of the Latina Council.

Local, passionate breast cancer fighting organizations, in a show of solidarity, are turning the Morrison Bridge PINK in honor of February’s National Cancer Awareness Month.

The Morrison Bridge will be lit pink starting on Valentine’s Day, February 14th until February 21st.

This collaboration is particularly important since our local Susan G. Komen Oregon and SW Washington will be closing at the end of March as part of the national consolidation of all Susan G. Komen affiliates.

Kathy Frederick, Founder of Row for the Cure added “I have had a vision for lighting the bridge pink for years and this seemed like right time for all these groups to come together to celebrate National Cancer Awareness Month and to send off our dear friends at Susan G. Komen Oregon and Southwest Washington.”

We were very happy to give a few local nonprofits the opportunity to go "shopping" in our storage room. They were able to choose everything from office supplies to tables/chairs to items useful in conducting events to storage racks and our office Christmas decorations! As we transition our affiliate to the national organization, we're glad to be able to donate these items to those helping our local community.
