🚧 Exeter Expansion Update #3! 🚧

It's been a few weeks since our last construction update, and we wanted to share the latest progress! While we experienced a small construction delay along the way, we're happy to report that things are moving forward again, and we're getting closer to the finish line.

The transformation over the past few weeks has been exciting to watch. Walls have been finished, flooring complete, walls painted, spaces are becoming more defined, and you can really start to envision the welcoming, modern clinic that will soon become the new home of Kate Schwartz Physical Therapy.

Every step brings us closer to opening our doors in our new location. We will share the new location on our next post.

A few weeks ago, we shared a sneak peek of our future home in Exeter. Since then, a lot has happened, and we're excited to show you the progress!

Walls are taking shape, treatment areas are becoming visible, and the vision for a modern, patient-centered clinic is starting to come to life. It's amazing to see months of planning and hard work turning into a space that will better serve our patients, staff, and community.

🧠 Meet One of Our Newest Specialists in Concussion & Vestibular Rehabilitation

We're excited to welcome one of our newest physical therapists to the Sport & Spine team, Kiersten Marshman, PT, DPT, Cert. VRS. She brings advanced training and expertise in concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation, specialty areas that support many of the athletes, active adults, and individuals we care for every day.

Concussions Are More Than "Getting Your Bell Rung"

A concussion is a form of mild traumatic brain injury that affects how the brain functions. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to lose consciousness to sustain a concussion.

While many people recover fully, returning to sports, work, school, or physical activity too quickly can delay recovery and increase the risk of prolonged symptoms. That's why a thorough evaluation and a guided, stepwise return-to-activity plan are so important.

One of the most critical components of early recovery is adequate rest and quality sleep, especially during the first week following the injury. However, some individuals continue to experience symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, visual problems, and balance deficits long after the initial injury.

These lingering symptoms are often associated with Post-Concussion Syndrome and can significantly impact daily life, work performance, and athletic participation.

The good news is that specialized physical therapy can play a key role in recovery. Treatment may address dizziness, balance impairments, visual and vestibular dysfunction, neck-related symptoms, and exercise intolerance—helping patients safely return to the activities they enjoy.

If you or your athlete has suffered a concussion, don't guess when it's safe to return to play, work, or exercise. A guided recovery plan can make all the difference.

We had a great time representing Sport & Spine Physical Therapy at the Salisbury Senior Center Health Resource Fair!

A special thank you to the Salisbury Council on Aging for hosting such a wonderful event and bringing together organizations dedicated to supporting the health, wellness, and independence of older adults in our community.

Our team members, Greg and Chris, enjoyed meeting local residents, answering questions about physical therapy, discussing balance and fall prevention, and sharing ways to stay active and healthy at every stage of life.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many community members and fellow healthcare professionals who share the goal of helping people move better, feel stronger, and live with confidence.
