Some bridges aren’t chosen.

At 45, Freddy Petrone lost his sight.

What followed wasn’t just a story about blindness—it was a story about resilience, identity, and discovering purpose in the face of profound change.

His TEDx Portsmouth talk is a reminder that even when life takes an unexpected turn, there is still a path forward.

Many of us have crossed bridges we never expected: loss, illness, divorce, grief, reinvention.

The question isn’t whether we’ll face them.

The question is who we become on the other side and who will we help along the way?

❤️ Volunteer Spotlight: Tom

Sometimes community support comes full circle.

Tom volunteers with I Got Bridged, helping connect people across the Seacoast to the resources they need. Recently, when 68 Hours of Hunger needed help with food deliveries, Tom stepped up there as well.

That’s what makes our community special. Volunteers don’t just support one organization. They support people. They see a need and respond.

We’re grateful for Tom and for the many volunteers who give their time, energy, and compassion to make a difference every day.

Thank you, Tom, for helping bridge gaps, delivering hope, and reminding us that when neighbors help neighbors, everyone benefits. ❤️

Every dollar raised helps us continue bridging the gap for people in need across the Seacoast.

When giving begins, we’ll be asking our community to help us keep building bridges not barriers.

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what a community can accomplish when people come together.

I Got Bridged provided transportation for members of our community from Cross Roads House and Portsmouth Housing to enjoy a day at Mount Agamenticus. Together, they spent time outdoors, connected with one another, and created memories along the way.

After the hike, everyone gathered for a cookout generously provided by Recovery Kitchen, where good food and conversation brought people together.

We were also joined by the incredible young people of Generation Kind, who hosted a lemonade stand to benefit I Got Bridged. Their kindness, generosity, and desire to help others showed that making a difference has no age limit.

This is what I Got Bridged stands for: helping others to help themselves, being kind, and bridging the gap for those in need. When people come together to support one another, lives are changed and communities grow stronger.

A special thank you to Cross Roads House, Portsmouth Housing, Recovery Kitchen, Generation Kind, our volunteers, and everyone who helped make this day possible. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community, one act of kindness at a time. ❤️

Today we want to recognize Cara, one of our amazing drivers and volunteers at I Got Bridged.

Cara is always willing to step up and help wherever she’s needed. Whether it’s covering a ride, volunteering her time, helping us in a pinch, or even driving someone to the airport, she continues to show what community support really looks like.

The people behind the wheel are more than drivers. They are dependable faces, helping hands, and part of the reason so many people across the Seacoast are able to get where they need to go.

Thank you, Cara, for always showing up and helping us bridge the gap for people in our community. We appreciate you.

Big thanks to our friend and volunteer Mr. D!

Mr. D has been working hard helping detail our vehicles so they’re clean, welcoming, and ready for both our riders and drivers each week.

It’s people like this, helping others and showing up consistently, that keeps this mission alive. Every act of care matters, and every person willing to lend a hand helps move this community forward.

Thank you, Mr. D, for helping us keep things looking fresh and moving forward. We appreciate you.

In order to get support, you need to be able to access it.

Our weekly transportation schedule helps community members reach meals, groceries, recovery support, and essential gathering spaces throughout the Seacoast. These rides are a bridge to nourishment, stability, dignity, and human connection and FUN. Remember riding on the school bus as a child and laughing with your friends? We do that too! A lot of JOY happens on our rides.

The schedule remains the same each week and can now always be found on our website (just scroll to the bottom of the homepage).

Thank you to every church, pantry, volunteer, and community partner helping make this possible. Small acts of consistency change lives.
