September. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
I tried to ignore the date for the past few days.
I wanted to forget this month existed.
My plan was to move on and leave her journey in the past.
But then I remembered all the kids still fighting. The amount of research that still needs to be done. The trials, the learning and the doctors that are still working on answers; and I realized that I want to keep sharing her story.
After not posting for several months, I wanted to update this page.
✅ Mollie rang the bell on December 4, 2025!
✅ She is cancer free!
✅ Through early 2026, she dealt with some side effects of her last chemo, lost every bit of hair for the fourth time, a hospital stay, several ear infections and she lost her grandma. Her heart was broken.
✅ She persisted.
✅ Summer 2026 was full of fun and lots of normalcy!
✅ In August, Mollie started 7th grade! Middle school!
✅ She scored Advanced on both of her state MAP tests! (This was a huge relief to this mom since the effects of cranial radiation can be terrifying)
✅ She made Student Council!
❤️ She continues to lead and love without hesitation. She is so special to so many and I love watching her grow!
❤️ She credits Jesus for getting her through every long night, every scary thought, every tear and every mental attack.
❤️ Her faith is solid and strong.
Though we are grateful, it doesn’t erase the grief. The trauma was devastating. The stories we never told are unimaginable. Three years she will never get back. Three years of missing out. Three years of pain.
❤️ I continue to pray that God will block out the bad and bring joy to her life. The type of joy that can only be found in Him!
❤️ If you don’t know Jesus, reach out to Him. He loves you. He will never leave you. He will keep every promise.
Please continue to share stories about childhood cancer. Continue to pray for a cure and for treatments that are gentler on children.
