This is a special time when baby is adjusting to life earthside and many newborns are naturally alert and ready to begin breastfeeding.

Skin-to-skin contact and a calm environment can support bonding, temperature regulation, and a smooth transition after birth.

Birth doesn’t end when baby is born.

Some of the most important moments are just beginning.

One of the biggest misconceptions about homebirth is that birth attendants arrive with nothing more than a stethoscope.

The reality is that preparation matters.

Every birth setup looks a little different, but I primarily carry a well-stocked toolbox, along with a few bags, filled with supplies for labor support, maternal assessments, newborn assessments, postpartum care, and emergency preparedness. (And snacks / caffeine🫥)
