We’ve been really pleased with our patients’ results using our Scarlet SRF machine!

What is Scarlet SRF (short pulse radio frequency)? It’s a hand held machine that uses radio frequency technology to tighten and rejuvenate skin by delivering controlled heat through lots of micro-needles, which stimulates the body’s collagen production and improves elasticity. While the needles pierce the skin, the machine releases radio waves, and these small micro-injuries to the deeper layers of the dermis stimulate the body’s healing processes. Scarlet is an exceptional skin rejuvenation treatment due to its versatility and benefits.

How often do you need to get this treatment? It depends on your personal issue that Scarlet will address, but we recommend three treatments, spaced 1-3 months apart, with a maintenance treatment recommended annually.

What are some concerns that Scarlet can help improve? Wrinkles, sagging skin, sun damage, scarring, skin texture, double chin, neck and body tightening.

Because at Bloom Health, Dr. Brovont employs a holistic approach to help our patients use the “skinny shots” as a tool, not a lifestyle. The goal is *not* to use the medication for a long period. The goal is to use the medication in partnership with effective lifestyle choices around diet, exercise, sleep, and your mental and emotional health. Dr. Brovont and our clinical staff create these conversations and offer sound medical advice.

Yes, yes on the radiance! 🌟

Good skin reflects good health, which is supported by (as you know!) a smart diet, adequate exercise, lots of sleep, social connections, and…definitely hugging your pets. 🐾

Another idea? Our “Stay in Bloom” vitamin infusion that features NAD, an essential coenzyme (that also occurs naturally in your body and declines with age) to help regulate metabolism, DNA repair and support anti-aging. (NAD stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.) Studies suggest NAD plays a role in reducing nerve cell inflammation, improving mitochondrial function in those with heart failure, and supporting cardiovascular health for middle aged adults and older.

At this point in time, you likely know someone who’s taken the “skinny shot” (a.k.a. GLP-1 agonist) as a successful weight loss tool, right? 🤩

But, are medical weight loss drugs for everyone? In a nutshell, no.

Patients that present with the following conditions are either ineligible to receive GLP-1 agonist drugs, or are counseled to delay their application as medically necessary. Some of the contraindicated conditions include: pancreatitis; severe gastrointestinal disease(s); known hypersensitivity to GLP-1 receptor agonists; renal impairment; pregnancy; lactation/breastfeeding; gallbladder disease; and personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.

Our treatment protocol emphasizes the ancillary lifestyle changes that must accompany weight loss drugs, if long-term success is the goal. At Bloom Health, we don’t want to see our patients on these drugs long-term. Our goal is to support lasting behavioral changes that allow our patients to be drug-free, at their healthiest weight, for the rest of their lives. It’s hard work, like anything good!💪🏻

Do you know that our medical clinic offers hospital-grade intravenous iron infusions, in our convenient Prairie Village location? Dr. Brovont and our clinical nursing staff make it exceptionally easy and comfortable, with appointments that start on time. 💙

Your primary care physician will order the testing to determine if you need iron infusions. Dr. Brovont will review the medical records and determine the best course of action.

The FDA first approved ketamine as an anesthetic in 1970. From that time through present day, it’s commonly used in operating rooms and emergency departments as an anesthetic.

Interest in ketamine’s ability to treat mental health concerns gained steam as anecdotal evidence throughout the past decades revealed that some patients would wake up from anesthesia feeling better in general. But, it wasn’t until 2000 that Yale University researchers conducted the first randomized, controlled trial of single-dose IV ketamine in trial participants with depression. This trial’s finding were remarkable because it demonstrated that IV ketamine could work to lift depression within hours, not months. In 2006, another controlled study of IV-ketamine by the National Institute of Mental Health demonstrated its efficacy insofar as 71% of participants with treatment-resistant depression reported feeling better.
While esketamine (which is administered only intranasally) is now FDA-approved for treatment resistant depression, Bloom Health chooses to use ketamine off-label by administering it intravenously, which allows for more control over the dosing, among other reasons.
