Heads up for anyone coming in for appointments over the next few weeks!! Be sure to leave a little early because of traffic and detours.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises that LA 42 will be fully closed beginning Friday, September 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM between Wirth Evans Rd and Manchac Point Rd.

The closure is expected to remain in place through Monday, October 6, 2025, to allow crews to complete emergency drainage repairs near Galvez Baptist Church.

⚠️ Important Notes:
No thru traffic will be allowed in this area during the closure.
Motorists should expect delays and plan to use the official state detour routes:

Eastbound: LA 42 → LA 44 SB → LA 933 EB → reconnect to LA 42 WB
Westbound: LA 42 → LA 933 WB → LA 44 NB → reconnect to LA 42 EB

DOTD reminds drivers to travel with caution in work zones and to be on the lookout for crews and equipment. Thank you for your patience as this important emergency repair is completed to keep our community safe!
