Every now and then, someone puts into words what I hope people experience when they visit Campbell's Lane Farm.

A dad, who had recently visited the farm for a donkey experience, wrote to me about wanting to bring his daughter to the farm. In sharing her story, he also shared something that stopped me in my tracks:

"I'm always looking for experiences that are meaningful and restorative rather than simply filling the time."

I haven't stopped thinking about that sentence.

In a world that often feels rushed, noisy, and full of things to do, maybe what many of us are longing for isn't another activity. Maybe we're longing for moments that help us reconnect—to ourselves, to nature, to each other, and to what matters most.

That is my hope for every person who visits the farm.

A place to slow down.

A place to breathe.

A place to experience what becomes possible when we move at the speed of kindness.

There’s something about walking beside a donkey.

Not pulling.
Not pushing.
Not making something happen.

Just learning to be together.

Lately we’ve been offering guests the opportunity to lead a donkey back to the field at the end of a session, and almost every time, something shifts.

People slow down. They become more aware of themselves, the donkey, and the space between them.
What begins as a simple walk often becomes an exploration of communication, patience, confidence, trust, and connection.
