Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment in the hair and delivering energy down to the follicle. For that to happen, the hair needs to remain connected within the follicle.

Shaving only removes the hair above the skin, leaving what the laser needs to target underneath.

Waxing, plucking, or tweezing removes the hair from the root. If the hair isn’t there when it’s time for your treatment, the laser can’t effectively target it.
