Women have always had to fight to be believed in medical spaces. That has to change.

Tonight in Pilates foundations we barely made it to the warm up before we were sitting on the floor talking about perimenopause, menopause, doctors who don’t listen & the very real cost of being dismissed. 🥹

The women in that room had stories. Stories about having to push back against doctors who moved too fast, suggested too much, & didn’t stop to actually listen. Stories about knowing their own bodies well enough to say no, not that, try something else first. Stories about advocating for themselves in moments where the stakes were really high.

& then there’s me. I nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy because my pain was brushed off as normal. They checked my HCG once, told me I was fine & sent me home. They should have checked it twice. They should have done an ultrasound. They didn’t. & I almost didn’t make it.

The US has worse maternal death rates than many developed countries. Women have been historically excluded from medical research. & doctors are still not doing enough with what they do have.

We deserve better. & until we get it we have to know how to fight for ourselves in those rooms.

This is part of what I do with my clients. Movement & strength & nervous system regulation are part of it. But so is helping you find the language to advocate for your own body. Because you are the expert on what you’re feeling. & nobody gets to dismiss that. 💪🏼🫶🏼

Created as a gentle, supportive introduction to movement, this series is designed for those craving a slower, more intentional place to begin. Whether you are completely new to Pilates, returning to yourself after time away, rebuilding strength, or simply looking for a more foundational experience, Intro to Pilates offers space to move with confidence, curiosity, and support.

Together, we will focus on core connection, mindful movement, breath, stability, and foundational Pilates principles in a way that feels approachable, empowering, and beautifully welcoming.

June is here & everything is shifting again. Kids are out of school. Routines are dissolving. Summer has its own rhythm & most people are still trying to find it.

So here’s what’s on the mat this month.

Pilates Foundations is a classical inspired mat class. Deep core work that trains the muscles you can’t see but your body relies on for everything from how you stand to how you carry your kid on your hip.

Intro to Pilates is a workshop. Less flowing, more learning. We break the movements apart & I explain the why behind what you’re doing so you’re not walking into your next class guessing.

Slow flow moves to Wednesday. Midweek. Right when the week starts piling up. That’s on purpose.

& yoga at the market is back for its fourth year 🥹 I helped build this one from the ground up with a friend who was managing the farmers market at the time. It’s become one of my favorite things I get to do all year & I’m so ready for it to be back.

This is the morning you show up for you. 🥹

Flow Freely, Shop Blissfully. June 27th. Blissful Branch Boutique in Kewanee, IL.

Eight spots. That’s intentional. This is as intimate as it gets.

For one hour we move through yogalates together. Intentional movement that works from the inside out. The kind of practice that reminds your body what it feels like to be yours again. To breathe without a to-do list attached to it. To take up space without apologizing for it.

& then the boutique comes alive around you. Racks sliding back into place. Swag bag in hand. Twenty percent off waiting for you. Still warm from your practice & somehow lighter than when you walked in. ✨🛍️

Get it in where you can. That’s the whole philosophy right now.

Made breakfast between sets this morning. Swept the during rest periods. Danced with my kid when she wandered in. The dog was absolutely in the way the entire time. & I still got it done.

Because I stopped waiting for the uninterrupted hour. It doesn’t exist right now & that’s just the reality of this season.

The cost of waiting for perfect conditions is staying exactly where you are. & that costs more than any inconvenience ever could.

& here’s the thing nobody really talks about. You can work out with your kids around without being an as***le about it. Yeah you can’t breathe. Yeah they picked the worst possible moment. But they’re watching. & the last thing I want is for Aurora to grow up thinking working out means mom was always angry & miserable & dreaded every second of it.

I want her to see strength. Resilience. Someone who manages hard things & still stops to dance with her in between. 🥹💪🏼

One of the ladies said after savasana that she almost felt like she was lucid dreaming.

That’s what an hour on the mat can do when you actually let yourself be there.

& I know there’s someone scrolling past this thinking that’s what I need right now.

You already know what it is. The thing you’ve been meaning to give yourself. The rest. The stillness. The one hour where nobody needs anything from you & you get to just be.

You’ve been waiting for the right time. The right plan. The version of yourself who’s finally ready.
She’s already here.

Small steps. Repeated. Over & over. Each one proving something to your nervous system that you are worth taking care of.

That’s the practice. & it starts with showing up.
