After much discussion and evaluation, Arukah's Senior Leadership Team has made the difficult decision to close the Mind Body Movement Room program at the end of June. We are grateful for the diligence and creativity of our yoga instructors Belinda, Ashley, and Jade, especially during our recent initiative to recast the vision for yoga at Arukah. While the program struggled to grow engagement and attendance in recent years, we are hopeful the organization can consider, once building renovations are complete, if and how wellness programming might fit into the Arukah's mission once again. The team's final appearance at the Princeton Farmers Market will be June 27, and the final class in Arukah's studio is scheduled for July 2.

Building stronger communities starts with supporting the whole person.

Arukah was proud to participate in the Stronger YOU Wellness Experience on June 9 at Princeton High School—an event centered around the 8 Dimensions of Wellness and empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being.

From meaningful conversations to powerful resources, this event was all about strengthening our community through wellness in every dimension.

We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to connect, share, and grow alongside so many passionate individuals and organizations.

Thanks to a community partnership with Open Space Art Gallery & Studios in Ottawa, one of our youth in the Pathways to Success program was given a one-month scholarship to join a girls art group—and it’s already making a lasting impact.

By recognizing her passion for art, this opportunity created a safe, welcoming space where she could connect with positive peers, build confidence, and express herself in a healthy way. What started as a simple act of generosity has become something she eagerly looks forward to each week.

Surrounded by supportive mentors and like-minded peers, she’s discovering friendship, belonging, and a renewed sense of hope.

Thank you to Open Space Art Gallery & Studios for investing in the strengths of our youth and helping create meaningful change. Together, we can make a difference—one child, one passion, and one act of kindness at a time.

Summer can be full—in the best ways—but also in ways that leave us feeling stretched thin. Between busy schedules, longer days, and trying to make the most of the season, it’s easy to overlook something important: yourself.

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. It can look like pausing for a quiet moment, getting outside, drinking more water, or simply being present with the people around you.

Small, intentional choices throughout your day can help you reset, reconnect, and feel more grounded—even in the busiest seasons.

As you move through this summer, give yourself permission to slow down when you need to, say no when it matters, and create space for what truly refills you.

We are incredibly grateful to Seneca Grade School District 170 for their generous support through their 16th Annual Fun Run/Walk held on May 28 in Seneca.

This year, they chose to donate the proceeds to the WORTH Program here at Arukah, helping us continue providing vital mental health and substance abuse services for local students—including those at Seneca High School.

Your commitment to the well-being of our youth makes a lasting difference in this community. Thank you for running alongside us in this mission!
