Maryland just became the first state to require mammogram reports to flag a sign linked to heart disease risk.

Princeton Radiology already does this 💗

Every SmartMamm, our screening mammogram, includes breast arterial calcification (BAC) reporting and AI-assisted analysis for early detection, at no additional cost.

Maryland mammogram letters must now tell women if breast arterial calcification was seen. What the finding means for heart risk and what to ask next.

Continuing our imaging series with Dr. Jonathan Lebowitz, President of Princeton Radiology.

Next question: Should women with dense breasts be more concerned about their breast cancer risk?

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. The good news: when it's found early, treatment is often simpler and outcomes are better.

That's why your annual mammogram matters. It's 15 minutes a year that lets you get ahead of it.

In the late 1970s, about 75% of women diagnosed with breast cancer were alive five years later. Today, it's more than 90%.

Better treatment is part of that story. Earlier detection is a big part, too. Most breast cancers are now found while they're still confined to the breast, which is when treatment works best.

ABC News breaks down where breast cancer stands today: https://abcnews.com/Health/breast-cancer-numbers-diagnoses-survival-rates/story?id=136895481

Behind that progress is a simple habit: an annual mammogram starting at age 40. If yours is due, schedule it with Princeton Radiology

Although the rates of women diagnosed with breast cancer have increased, five-year survival rates have risen. Here's what to know about breast cancer by the numbers.

No lump. No "frozen pea." Just skin that didn't feel quite right. Amanda Peet's story is a reminder that breast cancer doesn't always look like what we expect. Know your normal, talk to your doctor about any change, and stay on top of your annual mammogram and any additional screening recommended for you.

The actor said her very first indication something was wrong “wasn’t the frozen pea that everybody talks about,” she told TODAY.

Most people think a mammogram only looks for one thing. It can also show an early sign of heart disease.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S., and many don't know their risk until something goes wrong. One early clue is breast arterial calcification (BAC), small calcium deposits in the blood vessels of the breast that have been linked to a higher risk of heart disease.

Most practices don't report it. Princeton Radiology does. When our radiologists see BAC on your mammogram (SmartMamm), it's included in your report so you and your doctor can decide together whether to take a closer look at your heart health.

One appointment can tell you about your breasts and possibly your heart.

The CDC says heart disease is the leading cause of death among women in the United States, and more than 60 million U.S. women are living with some form of it.

This World Heart Day, we’re wrapping up our September heart health series with an important question: Can you lower your cardiac calcium CT score?

Dr. Jonathan A. Lebowitz, President of Princeton Radiology and a radiologist, explains why a lower coronary calcium score isn’t always expected after treatment and why understanding your score is just one part of understanding your overall heart health.

That’s also the idea behind SmartHeart™ cardiac calcium CT scoring: giving patients and their doctors more insight into cardiovascular risk.
