RAVEN SPEAKS
Hear the West. Feel the Spirit. Remember the Stories.

A raven circles high above the High Desert, carrying with it the mystery, wisdom, and wild spirit of the American West.
In Raven Speaks, award-winning Western author and poet Rick Steber brings that spirit to life through powerful prose and poetry born from a lifetime of listening to the land, its people, and its stories.

LOOK WHO STOPPED BY THE RICK STEBER – MAKERS SHOWROOM … Evelyn Montgomery said, “Ever since I was a little girl, every time I’ve come to Prineville to visit my grandma (Pat Montgomery) … I’ve always stopped by your store to visit with you about history and writing. I want you to know, Rick Steber, that I’m your biggest fan.” … Evelyn gifted me a painting, and I gifted her a copy of my new release – “Raven Speaks”

RAVEN SPEAKS
The spirit of Raven lives within the pages of Raven Speaks, a powerful collection of prose and poetry from award-winning Western author and poet Rick Steber.

For a lifetime, Steber has listened to the voices of the West—to Native traditions, to the High Desert in its quietest moments, and to the people whose lives have been shaped by wind, weather, hardship, and wide-open spaces. His words carry the echoes of ancient campfires and the whispers of sage-scented breezes, revealing the beauty, mystery, and enduring spirit of the Western landscape.
These are more than poems and stories. They are reflections on a way of life, reminders that every trail has a history and that every generation carries a responsibility to remember. In Raven Speaks, Steber invites us to slow down, listen closely, and hear what the West has been saying all along.

LOOK WHO STOPPED BY THE RICK STEBER – MAKERS SHOWROOM … Tom Mccallum, a private detective who investigated the killing of Phillip Brooks in 1994. He stopped by to chat about the case and offer his thoughts on the reasoning for Wheeler County District Attorney Gretchen Ladd to file a protective order for the second time, sealing all records relating to the case. His conclusion … she either doesn’t want to be bothered answering the Freedom Of Information Request that was served, or she has an ulterior motive for refusing to comply with a lawful request from the public.

LOOK WHO STOPPED BY THE RICK STEBER – MAKERS SHOWROOM … Rick Weatherson needed some summer reading material. When Rick read “Buckaroo Heart” he was so inspired he wrote a song and even drove to Malin, Oregon to meet the main character in the book, Herman Vowell. Great seeing you, Rick, and thanks for singing that song, Buckaroo Heart.

HAD A FANTASTIC TIME LAST EVENING … With special friends, Martine Kraft and Nils Jorgen, as they shared songs of Norway and the American West with the people of Prineville. Gotta love the sound of that Hardanger fiddle and Martine’s awesome talent in playing the instrument. Thank you for visiting us on your West Coast tour.
