The Nurses Middle College students are afforded a rigorous high school curricula, early college classes, and exposure to the nursing profession. Students entering the 10th are allowed to enroll as first year students after successfully completing their 9th grade year at another school. Students who are successful in their first and second years take a combination of high school and college courses through URI and CCRI during their third and fourth years. After 4 years in our program, students are able to start at the University of Rhode Island as a sophomore (2nd year student). The Nurses Middle College pays for the early college courses empowering its students by lowering the overall cost of their education. Early college exposure orientates students to the demands of higher education and increases the likelihood of college graduation.
