Great news, Madi's PET scan showed significant improvement. The cancer in her liver and bones has shrunk dramatically, which is great news and shows that the chemo and immunotherapy are working. Thanks be to God, as well as modern science and all the prayer warriors out there that have been praying for Madi. She is not out of the woods yet, as this is only the completion of her first 8 weeks of being under this new cancer regimen, but it is the first good news in a long time. As always, thank you, everyone, for the continued prayers and support.

I would like to extend my gratitude to my sister and Aunt Helen, along with her husband Garret, for organizing a reptile show for Madi, which she thoroughly enjoyed, particularly with the snakes and her cousins. I also appreciate Dave and animal experience for providing the animals and reptiles for the kids to interact with.

Madi was discharged from the hospital today and is now home, where she is resting. Her health has shown considerable improvement, with a notable decrease in nausea and normalization of her electrolytes, magnesium, and potassium levels. The medical team has determined that a temporary extension of her chemotherapy break is necessary to allow her body to recover more fully, she will start her next round of chemotherapy possibly Thursday or Friday and a PET scan at the end of the month. Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and support.

I hope all the mothers enjoyed their special day. As for Madi, she has been facing challenges over the past two weeks with eating and has been dealing with a significant amount of nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and difficulty retaining food. She has been hospitalized and is currently receiving IV fluids, electrolytes, and nausea medication to help control her symptoms and improve her strength. Furthermore, Madi has been experiencing some complications with her right jaw and ear, along with difficulty speaking, which has led to a CAT scan being ordered. The ENT doctors will assess the scan results tomorrow to identify the underlying cause. We are grateful for your continued prayers and support, asking that you pray for Madi's strength, courage, and gods healing during this time.

I hope the rain showers today did not cause any inconvenience. Madi's treatment has been progressing favorably since her chemotherapy regimen was adjusted, and she has been pain-free for the last 3 weeks, which is a notable achievement considering the complexities of the past month. The substantial decrease in swelling in her neck and leg has allowed her medical team to discontinue steroids and resume immunotherapy. Moreover, her EBV test results have demonstrated a positive trend, decreasing from 20,000 to 3,000, a development that warrants optimism. Madi remains resilient and determined. Thank you all for the continued support and prayers.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. The last two weeks have been very contentious. Madi received the results of her PET scan and unfortunately did not receive good news. The cancer had spread throughout her body and returned to past treated areas; unfortunately, the cancer spots are back in her liver, right arm, right leg, in multiple areas, and in a new area of the left arm, as well as her jaw, just to name a few. This news took the doctors, Madi, and all of us by surprise, as the past PET scans were showing such good progress. As devastating as this news was, Madi took it like a fighter, right on the chin, shrugged it off, and vowed to beat this. She has had a lot of meetings with her doctors over the last two weeks on next steps. As the cancer has spread and her EBV levels rose to the highest they had ever been, it showed that the current chemotherapy was no longer working and needed to be switched to a new chemotherapy. The doctors have decided to put Madi on a pill form of chemotherapy that she will need to take every day for two weeks on and one week off. Madi did receive some good news from the results of the biopsy that came in from the rheumatoid doctor, and it was determined that the swelling she was having in her body was due to the radiation she was receiving, which means she can go back on her immunotherapy that was very effective in battling this cancer. Since the swelling was due to the radiation, the doctors feel comfortable dropping the milligrams of steroids she is receiving so she can get back on the immunotherapy by the start of her second cycle of treatment. Since Madi started this new regimen, it's been going pretty good, besides for one hiccup when she had to go to the hospital due to tremors, which turned out not to be due to the chemotherapy but due to an infection that has now resolved. So far, Madi has been having less pain since starting this new routine, which is a blessing from God. She continues to fight the good fight, and she will win this battle. Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and support.

This week is significant as Madi underwent a biopsy on her knee on Monday, which went very well for her. The rheumatoid doctor is currently reviewing the findings and is expected to provide an update on the underlying cause of the swelling in her leg and neck by the end of the week. We are hopeful that the swelling is attributed to her previous radiation treatment rather than the immunotherapy, which would allow her to resume the treatment and aid in combating the cancer. Madi is scheduled for a PET scan tonight at 7:20 and is optimistic about the outcome, expecting no new cancer spots. Following this week off from treatment, she will start her next treatment cycle next week. We appreciate the continued support and prayers.

Hope everyone enjoyed Saint Patrick’s day, Madi is doing well and still fighting the good fight. The doctors are planning a biopsy at the end of the month on her knee for the swelling as it still continues to swell up when she gets off of the steroids. The doctors think it might be caused by the radiation now instead of the immunotherapy and the biopsy will help them determine to know what exactly is causing the swelling in her knee and neck. If it’s found to be due to the radiation then Madi will be able to go back on the immunotherapy which will be a huge help in fighting the cancer. She is continuing her chemotherapy treatment this week as well aqua therapy to help her to get full range of motion in her leg and neck. The following week she will have a PET scan to see if there are any new cancer spots, we are praying that this scan comes out clean as the radiation on her right arm was successful. She continues to be in good spirits and is looking forward to the spring. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support.

Good news Madi is back home and feeling much better now that she is back on her steroids. She did have to spend an extra night for observation but was able to come home today which she was extremely excited to do.

I hope that everyone had a pleasant Valentine's Day and is enjoying President's Day today. Madi's condition has improved significantly, with the swelling in her leg subsiding substantially, although she is still experiencing difficulties bending her knee and managing pain. This week, she will be consulting with a rheumatologist regarding the swelling and commencing radiation treatment on her right armpit for 10 sessions at a low dose. Fortunately, her EBV levels have decreased considerably, indicating that her chemotherapy is still effective, which is reassuring news.

Today marks one-year of Madi's journey, which has been quite an odyssey. The numerous treatments at Hasbro and travels to New York for treatment at MSK have made this year pass quickly. I am incredibly proud of Madi's remarkable strength and resilience throughout this challenging period, as she continues to push forward with unwavering determination. As always thank yiu fir the continued prayers and support. God bless you all.
