Meet Brandon Ethington, our go-to “Tech Guy” and an HR Business Partner/Consultant with a career that started in college and took off in Houston when a friend helped him land his first role in the oil and gas industry.
Brandon’s approach to HR is simple but powerful: “It isn’t about me — it’s about the person in front of me. They deserve my attention and an open mind to what they have to say.” That mindset guides every conversation and decision he makes.
One of his favorite parts of SHRM? The people — and the food! He loves connecting at lunch-and-learns where good conversation is always served alongside great meals. His advice for others: “If you’re not sure that what you’re doing is the right thing… wait. Most things can wait.”
Outside of work, Brandon is a proud soda enthusiast (ask him about his go-to SWIG order: Diet All the Way, easy ice, Guava Have It) and a big fan of ChatGPT for its unique range of sources and ideas. He also has a wild story from his time helping with hurricane cleanup in Houston — a close call with a chainsaw that could have ended very differently.
