New instructors loading....

Today we had the honor to partner with the CAN Council of the Great Lakes Bay Region. These 5 instructor candidates are now certified HSI Level 1 instructors and will be presenting Child and Babysitting Safety to their babysitting bootcamps across their service area of Arenac, Bay, Saginaw, and Huron counties.

"The CAN Council centers serve as a voice and an advocate for children throughout Arenac, Bay, Huron, and Saginaw Counties. They help build a future where the innocence of childhood is preserved, where families are strengthened, and where every child knows they are loved, valued, and worthy of protection."

Child advocacy and primary prevention plays such a vital role in the success of our youth. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to partner with this wonderful organization. Also a special thank you to Austin from Emergency Prep Education for his work with the CAN Council and helping us connect to form this partnership.

If we were to offer a Wilderness First Aid course, would there be interest? This course would encompass 2 8 days of hands on learning.

How would this differ from a traditional first aid course? WFA focuses on injuries that likely wouldn't occur in a populated setting. This training also prepares the student for providing care in remote settings where there may be an extended delay in getting emergency services to the patient's location.

We're upgrading.

Today we purchased the Dart Sim Pro kit. Using the built in scenarios with a controller that can adjust the monitor/vitals on the fly, we will be able to improve the realism of our advanced level courses. In Michigan, "Group and family child care homes, as well as all child care staff members, to obtain certification in infant, child, and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid prior to providing care to children.
Child care centers must ensure that no fewer than 50 percent of program staff are certified in pediatric CPR and pediatric first aid before the issuance of a license and prior to each license renewal."

Sunday, August 30th at 9am we will be offering Adult, Child, & Infant CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid in East Tawas. This course results in certification through Health & Safety Institute (HSI) meets the requirements of CPR Training for child care centers. This same course meets other occupational requirements such as coaching through MHSAA and OSHA.

Houghton Lake families, the mannequins are ready, the Houghton Lake Cooperative Preschool/GSRP teachers are getting ready, are the kiddos ready to start back to school?
I spent the day yesterday with the HLCP staff completing their CPR, AED, and first aid training. This is always one of my favorite groups to have training with because my wife is one of the teachers. My wife will always be one of my favorite success stories to talk about. If you've every taken a class with me, you know that I love to share the story of her amazing recovery as a stroke patient. 6 years later, she's graduating with her bachelor's degree this winter.

A giant thank you to the staff of Iosco RESA - Adult Education division for participating in Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid Training today. It was a fun training with an engaged group that asked great questions.

I'm looking forward to the remainder of the week where I'll be training with staff members of Houghton Lake Cooperative Preschool/GSRP and another group of staff members from Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, Inc (NEMCSA) Early Childhood Division.

These organizations entrust First Response Education, LLC with their CPR training needs. I am honored to be able to continue to deliver training for these groups and provide AED inspection while on-site for their equipment.

Back to school CPR classes kicked off today. We got great feedback about the quality of the classes that we teach from the staff while teaching at NEMCSA in West Branch. Incredibly proud to be able to deliver quality and engaging courses that prepare every day heroes for emergencies in their classrooms.

There are still a few seats available in our CPR/AED/First aid class tomorrow in Prudenville. Over the next 3 weeks we'll be in 4 different school districts delivering the same high quality training and preparedness that we delivered today.

If you're looking for CPR Certification, start looking at your September schedule. I'd love to be able to come to your location or host a class for you in our office in Prudenville.

August is essentially completely filled on my schedule with the exception of a few slots for ACLS renewal. I'm feeling thankful for the great relationships that I've formed with various K-12 school systems, preschool/early childhood education centers, healthcare providers, and other instructors.

If you're still needing Certification in the month of August, get ahold of me. I'll see what classes I might be able to squeeze you into, and if not, I'll work to find an instructor who is able to accomodate. With 45 aligned instructors across Michigan, I'm positive that we can accomodate your needs.
