When life improves after the remedy, do not mistake circumstance for cure. Look for changes that began before the circumstances changed—and for improvement across levels of the patient.

Never confuse potency number with depth of action. When the Similimum is correct, even a 30C can move a deep chronic case—and the patient’s life may show the improvement before the pathology fully does.

The repertory ranks remedies; the homeopath ranks their relevance.

A remedy may rank highly in repertorization because it covers several of the selected symptoms. But that does not necessarily mean it represents the patient sitting before us today.

A patient, for example, may have experienced profound grief following a traumatic loss. That grief may have shaped much of the person's life. Yet careful case-taking may reveal that the grief has now been resolved.

The history remains important—but the past is not always the present state.

This is why, after repertorization, I believe we must return to the patient and ask:

Does this remedy merely cover the rubrics, or does it truly describe the person sitting before me?

Repertorize accurately. Study the ranking. Then return to the patient.

The repertory narrows the field.

The final judgment belongs to the homeopath.

Never prescribe because you fear the remedy has stopped acting. Prescribe only when careful observation demonstrates that its action has reached its limit.
