We've had a great start to our week at Write On! Handwriting Camp!

Over the first two days, our campers have been hard at work building the foundational skills needed for successful handwriting through play, movement, and hands-on learning.

We've enjoyed:
⭐ Obstacle courses, dance parties, and animal walks to help get our bodies moving and regulated
⭐ Fine motor activities with Play-Doh, theraputty, and sensory bins to warm up our our hand muscles
⭐ Practicing letter recognition and name writing
⭐ Pipe cleaner and letter-building activities
⭐ Snack time, social interaction, and lots of fun!

Campers have been working on things like letter formation, letter sizing, letter memory, and building confidence while strengthening the muscles needed for handwriting.

One of my favorite parts of the week has been watching them have fun as they practice writing their names in new and creative ways. It's exciting to see their growth already!

Learning is always more meaningful when it's active, engaging, and fun. πŸ’›

🍎 Days 1 & 2 of Ready, Set, Kindergarten have been so much fun! 🍎

Our campers are becoming more comfortable with the routine each day, and transitions continue to improve. Everyone participated in our welcome circle and introductions, helping build confidence and friendships within the group.

We've been practicing important kindergarten readiness skills through coloring, cutting, and gluing while also working on writing our names. The children are doing a great job staying engaged and putting forth effort during table work.

Throughout the mornings, we have enjoyed plenty of opportunities for play and exploration. Favorite activities include magnet tiles, stringing beads, sensory bins, puzzles, ball toss, and our obstacle course. These activities have provided opportunities to build fine motor skills, problem-solving, bilateral coordination, social interaction, and creativity while having fun.

We have ended our mornings with story time on the rug. The children are learning to sit well, listen attentively, and participate throughout the stories.

It has been wonderful to watch confidence, participation, and friendships begin to grow over just two days. We are looking forward to more learning, playing, and exploring together tomorrow! βœοΈπŸ“šπŸŒŸ

Today wrapped up our first Strong Hands Littles session, and what a fun week it has been!

Over four mornings together, the children explored sensory bins, puzzles, books, Play-Doh, blocks, gross motor activities, music, art, and imaginative play. We practiced transitions, participated in group activities, built friendships, and gained confidence in a new environment.

Today's favorites included stickers, dot markers, water painting, sensory fidgets, and plenty of free play. The children were excited to take home their artwork, a few fun goodies, and personalized summaries highlighting some of the strengths and skills I observed throughout the week.

One of my favorite things to watch was how much the children grew in comfort and confidence from Day 1 to Day 4. As the week progressed, they became more engaged, more independent, and more connected with one another through play.

Thank you to the families who trusted me with their little ones this week. It was a joy to watch them learn, explore, create, and grow!

🌼 Strong Hands Littles: Days 1 & 2 🌼

What a fun start to our first Strong Hands Littles session! Over the past two mornings, our little learners have been busy exploring sensory bins, building block towers, crawling through tunnels, enjoying snack time with friends, solving puzzles, reading books, and engaging in imaginative play.

One of my favorite things to watch has been the children's growing confidence already. Today, they become more comfortable with the routine, more willing to try new activities, and more engaged with one another. Watching friendships begin to form through play has been especially sweet. πŸ’›

While it may look like "just play," these activities are building important skills such as:
✨ Fine motor development
✨ Hand strength
✨ Social interaction
✨ Communication
✨ Problem-solving
✨ Gross motor coordination
✨ Independence

We can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
