Year after year our community has come together to Lap the Lake — and every year, we’re reminded of just how powerful it is when we come together to support the youth in Northeast Connecticut. 💙

Your participation supports NOW's physical wellness, STEAM, and Life Skills programs throughout Northeastern Connecticut. It also helps make youth sports accessible for local families through our “We Pay. You Play.” Youth Sports Scholarship Program. 🏃‍♀️⚽️🎨💪

Do you love working with kids, staying active, and making a positive impact? 💚🏃‍♀️⚽️

✨ What you’ll do:
• Lead fun, engaging activities for school-age children through middle school
• Promote health, nutrition, fitness, sports, and overall wellness
• Encourage teamwork, confidence, healthy habits, and positive choices
• Be a positive role model while having FUN!

You’ve made it through two weeks—look at you go! 🎉 Now it’s time to build a little more endurance and keep pushing toward that 5K finish line! 🏁

💡 WEEK 3 TIP: Don’t worry about your pace! Your goal is to build endurance, not speed. If jogging feels challenging, slow your pace down or take a short walking break. That’s still progress! 💪

Wednesday evening our participants had the pleasure of working with Monique from The Northeast Connecticut Education Foundation’s Tackle the Trail on running fundamentals! We learned about static and dynamic stretching and many other important pieces of running ( like a big glass of chocolate milk after a nice run 😊 ).

We hope to see you at 10AM this Sunday, August 16th for our Back to school run at the Killingly River Trail - Phaiah’s Dog Park.
