Dancing Woods is popping up somewhere new tomorrow! 🌿

Tomorrow evening, I’ll be bringing the apothecary to the Johnstown Farmers Market for the first time!

This lovely community market takes place in Bigelow Park in the heart of downtown Johnstown and brings together local farmers, makers and artisans alongside live music, food trucks and family-friendly activities—so come hungry, wander the market, listen to some music and make an evening of it.

I’ll be set up at Booth #5 with a selection of Dancing Woods favorites, including herbal remedies, all-natural botanical skincare, herbal honey vinegars, and other small-batch offerings from the apothecary.

📍📍📍
Wednesday, August 194:30–7:30 p.m.Bigelow Park - 1 Phalen Place, Johnstown, OH 43031

I’m looking forward to meeting some new faces, introducing more people to the plants, and spending a summer evening with the Johnstown community.

If you’re in the Columbus, New Albany, Granville or Johnstown area, come say hello! 🌿

Hey community & fellow vendors! 🌿

I’m excited to share that I’ll be participating in the Lost Skills Gathering on Saturday, October 3, at Clary Gardens in Coshocton, Ohio!

I’ll be there moderating the main stage of speakers, vending my apothecary wares, and sharing tidbits of herbal knowledge alongside dozens of other teachers throughout the gardens and woodland trails.

This gathering is not just for the herbal-minded! It’s a fun, hands-on event for the whole family with tons of skills to explore~

Lost Skills is a full-day celebration of the skills, crafts, traditions, and practical knowledge that deserve to be carried forward, from old-fashioned trades and homesteading skills to folk arts, nature knowledge, handcrafts, foodways, music, storytelling, and so much more. Bring the kids, wander the gardens and woodland trails, watch demonstrations, try your hand at traditional skills and crafts, listen to music and storytelling, and connect with a wonderful community of makers, teachers, and fellow skill-keepers.

🌿 VENDORS — WE’D LOVE TO HAVE YOU! 🌿

The event is fast approaching, and there is a TON of work happening behind the scenes to make this inaugural gathering a success. We’d love for you to be part of it!

**The vendor booth fee is currently discounted to just $40, and there are only 10 spots remaining.**

If you’re interested in vending, check out the main event page and submit a vendor application.

And please share this post with anyone you think would love to vend, volunteer, teach, or simply attend. It takes a village to create a community, and this gathering is certainly dedicated to bringing people together, which is part of what makes it so special. ❤️

Come wander, learn something with your hands, meet some wonderful people, and help us keep these skills alive and in motion for the next generation.

Another little home for Dancing Woods. 🌿

I’m so happy to share that you can now find a selection of Dancing Woods Apothecary offerings at Monarch Mercantile’s beautiful new location in the heart of downtown Cambridge.

📍 826 Wheeling Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio

One of the things I love most about small local businesses is the way they have a knack for bringing people together. I’m especially grateful to From Scratch Co-Op, whose Saturday farmers market introduced us. Thanks to that community, Dancing Woods has found another local home!

Monarch Mercantile is a woman-owned, family-run shop celebrating locally made, sustainable goods. You’ll find one-of-a-kind succulent planters, hanging baskets, handcrafted gifts, and thoughtfully curated products from local artisans and makers.

You can still find me most Saturdays through mid-September at the From Scratch Co-op Farmers Market (433 Wheeling Avenue), but if you can’t make it to the market—or you’re looking for Dancing Woods after the market season winds down—you can now stop by Monarch Mercantile right down the street.

A heartfelt thank you to Tabby at Monarch Mercantile for welcoming my handcrafted remedies into your beautiful shop, and to From Scratch Co-op for creating a market that brings local makers together.

I hope you’ll stop in and support these wonderful small businesses. Every purchase helps keep our local community thriving. 🌿

💚Thank you to all who came to the market yesterday! We saw alot of our usual faces but also saw ALOT of new ones!

We've even had people tell us they are here vacationing or just passing through on a Saturday morning and found us online and decided to stop by!

Your support of local food matters! Thank you for showing up to support our vendors and our market!

We will be back same time, same place Saturday August 8th from 8-Noon at 433 Wheeling Ave! We have new and rotating vendors as well as special pop up events happening.

It has been a whirlwind these last few months, and I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. ❤️

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who has supported Monarch Mercantile during our move to Cambridge. Whether you’ve stopped in to shop, shared a post, told a friend about us, or simply cheered us on, it has meant more than you’ll ever know. Our incredible vendors for hanging tough through the transition. Starting over in a new location is exciting, but it’s also a little scary, and you’ve made this transition so much easier.

Starting tomorrow (Saturday), our new standard business hours officially begin!

🌿 Wednesday-Friday: 11:00 AM-5:00 PM
🌿 Saturday: 10:00 AM-4:00 PM

You’ll also still find us every Saturday morning from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM at the From Scratch Co-op Market, so you can shop with us there before stopping by the store!

In September, we’ll be adding Tuesday hours. Since I still had scheduled shifts to finish at the hospital, I wanted to make sure I didn’t leave my coworkers short handed. Once those are wrapped up, I’ll be spending even more time at the shop. Then, as we head into fall and the holiday season, you’ll see additional shopping days and some late evening hours for those who can’t make it during the day. I’m really excited for Christmas time/hot chocolate/shopping/courthouse lights/dickens.

I’m also so excited to share that our workshop calendar will be coming soon! We already held our very first class in the new space, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. It reminded me exactly why I wanted to create this shop in the first place.. to bring people together, make memories, and create something special as a community.

And one last thing! 🍎🪴 Our Classroom & School Employee Plant is officially open! If you’d like to surprise your favorite teacher, aide, secretary, custodian, bus driver, administrator, or any school employee with a beautiful snake plant to kick off the school year, now is the time to order!
Our order link is in the comments.

Last year, because of your incredible support, we delivered 50 plants to local schools, and Monarch Mercantile was able to donate $500 in gift cards for school employees to use in the shop. I’d absolutely love to make an even bigger impact this year.

Thank you for believing in this little dream of mine. I truly can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings. ❤️🌿

A sweet little addition has arrived at the apothecary. 🌼

I’m so happy to introduce Chamomile Calm Sweet Drops—an alcohol-free herbal extract lovingly crafted with German chamomile, organic vegetable glycerin, a touch of local raw honey, and calming flower essences.

Gentle enough for everyday use, Matricaria chamomilla (German chamomile) is traditionally used to help calm the nervous system, ease occasional digestive upset, and bring a little more peace to busy days. Because these drops are alcohol-free and naturally sweet, they’re a wonderful option for children and for adults who prefer to avoid alcohol.

They’re delicious right from the dropper or added to a cup of tea, a glass of water, or your favorite juice.

Like so many of my favorite remedies, this one begins in the garden. The chamomile was grown with care, harvested basket by basket throughout the season, and slowly transformed into this simple botanical ally.

It will soon be available wherever Dancing Woods Apothecary offerings are sold. And if you are out of the Ohio area, message me! I’m happy to ship and I’d love to help you discover whether this gentle little herb might become one of your favorite plant allies.

Explore the plants with me. 🌿
