Gift of Life International Our mission is to provide lifesaving cardiac treatment to children in need from developing countries Gift of Life helps children in two ways.

First, we may arrange for them to be flown to the United States where a volunteer team of medical professionals performs the necessary life-saving surgery. Alternately, we may arrange for Gift of Life affiliated hospitals, medical centers and healthcare professionals throughout the world to treat them. The latter practice reduces the need for extensive travel for our children and their families.

Did you know that Gift of Life International receives more requests from parents in Asia than any other region in the world for pediatric cardiac care for their children?

We're helping dreams come true in Asia by working with our global network of partners to help these children and their families receives the care they need! In 2025, 1,018 children in this region were treated. Help us continue to be the change the world needs! ❤️

We will be returning to the Dominican Republic this Saturday, June 20th through Saturday, June 27th!

This visit to the DR in especially exciting because it will be the first visit that will bring along the recipients of our new internship program! This internship will be done in partnership with CEO Rob Raylman's alumni school, Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Four students will be joining us for this visit and witness what it means first-hand to help heal little hearts around the world. ❤️

Meet Genesis from El Salvador! At just two years old, Genesis is already showing incredible strength.

Genesis was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot at birth. Tetralogy of Fallot is a heart condition that affects normal blood flow through the heart. After learning of her condition, her family spent every day hoping for the care she desperately needs.

In May of 2026, Genesis got her chance at a healed heart and had an open-heart surgery at Benjamin Bloom Hospital in El Salvador!

Thanks to supporters like you, our partners at Latidos de Esperanza El Salvador, and our global network of partners and medical professionals, Genesis will be able to live the rest of her childhood happily and healthily. ❤️

Gift of Life International will be headed back to the Dominican Republic for a medical training visit at the end of this month - but this time with a twist!

During the week of June 20th to June 27th, our volunteer medical team will be joined by four students from Hobart and William Smith Colleges! This will be the first visit associated with out new internship program. These students will be able to observe surgeries, see the team at work, and meet the children and families that will be directly impacted by heart healing care. ❤️

Before every heart healing operation, hours of preparation must happen behind the scenes. ❤️

Every medical training visit begins long before our volunteer medical teams board a plane. From coordinating travel documents and medical credentials for our volunteer teams to carefully packing and shipping lifesaving medical supplies... organization is everything!

Once we arrive, the work continues. Our teams inventory every shipment to ensure every medication, piece of equipment, and surgical tool arrives safely and is ready when needed. Then, when the visit comes to an end, they carefully recount supplies to track what was used, what remains, and what will be needed for future heart-healing visits.

This makes every procedure, every training opportunity, and every saved life possible. Because healing hearts takes preparation, partnership, and a whole lot of teamwork! 🌍❤️
