When life gets busy, self-care is often put to the bottom of the to-do list. It's easy to say, 'I can do that later, or next week. Let's go grocery shopping, let's get the lawn cleaned up.'
And sometimes, that triage is necessary. And sometimes the exact opposite is true. We all know the empty cup and how difficult it is to pour from. We all know it's the little things that count like big things.
This is my favorite time of year. My birthday signals the end of summer, the beginning of fall: early fall with apples, then after hot air balloons, pumpkins and leaves.
It's a time to start slowing down. I am abundant, and my business has not hit its typical fall slowdown. I have to intentionally build time for the things I love. I have to intentionally make time with the people I love.
I've got two long road trips scheduled for September. I have classes starting in October. I have two weekend retreats in October. I have several shuttle runs and workshops on my calendar. I have vendor events.
I love my work, I love this time of year, and I love the people I get to spend it with.

I now have a plant in the studio.
It's a greenhouse, so that makes sense.
I'm not amazing at growing plants, I over water or forget to water. It's been two weeks.
This one seems to like it here.
Any plant care tips are welcome.
*Pictured in the background is a totem pole I made for a sixth grade social studies project. My dad had it in his garage for all those years. It also seems to like it here in the studio.
