ā€œI laid on the couch all weekend... why am I still exhausted?ā€ šŸ›‹ļøāš”

If you have ADHD, traditional ā€œrestā€ can feel less like recharging and more like a trap for anxiety, guilt, or under-stimulation.

As fall routines kick in, social, sensory, and executive function demands skyrocket. True rest for a neurodivergent brain isn’t just ā€œdoing nothingā€ā€”it’s giving your nervous system targeted relief.

Swipe through for a quick preview, then tap the link in our bio to read the full blog post ā€œWhat is Rest?ā€ by Kristin Bailey, LCSWA, and watch her video breakdown on finding real rest this season! šŸ”—šŸŒæ

Today, October 7th, is dedicated to Supporting our Youth as part of Mental Illness Awareness Week ( )!

Because we are all about empowering children, teens, and their parents, we want to show our strong support for this vital campaign. Every single day, we partner with families navigating complex questions:

Is my child going through a normal developmental stage?
Are they processing an adjustment or life transition?
Might this be neurodivergence, or are they experiencing a mental health challenge?
It can feel overwhelming to figure out the best path forward on your own. If you find yourself in that place of uncertainty—wondering whether your child or teen might need extra support—please reach out to us. Early support makes all the difference. šŸ’š

As we near the end of September and Su***de Prevention Month, we want to gently remind everyone that this support and conversation are vital all year round.

Claudio Barrientos, LCSW, shares how he has been personally impacted by su***de and speaks to the importance of knowing you do not have to carry this burden alone.

To families who have been impacted by the loss of a loved one to su***de, we send our deepest condolences and hopes for healing. Being a survivor of loss brings unique challenges, and reaching out for support can be a crucial step in your healing journey.

Regardless of what your needs are in this moment, if we can help, please let us know. You are not alone. šŸ“± Call or text 988 for free, confidential support available 24/7.

āļøWe are honored to share
Birch Therapy has been voted a Runner-Up in the 2026 INDY Best of Wake County Readers’ Poll for Best Women’s Health Practice!
Being recognized in the field of women’s health is especially affirming.

Our practice provides services for young women, moms in the pre- and postpartum stages, and women navigating various phases of life. We strongly support mothers as they navigate parenting, relationships, and processing past experiences as they reach towards their individual wellness goals.

As a practice primarily composed of women, we hope that women in our community uplift and believe in one another, and this principle guides the work we do every day. Thank you INDY Week for this wonderful recognition!

At Birch Therapy, our tagline is Collaboration, Connection, Change—and we would be remiss if we didn’t integrate those core values into everything we do. This is why we gather annually for our Strategic Planning Day!

The purpose of this day is to strengthen our team as we connect, reflect, and learn from one another. During our time together, we:

Shared incredible food and meaningful fellowship

Received wisdom and key lessons learned from our seasoned clinicians

Reviewed our major highlights and milestones from the past year

Honored team members with Golden Heart Awards to affirm their unique strengths

We are committed to continuous growth and change because we know we can never stop learning or striving to become better clinicians for the community we serve.

A special thank you to our fearless leader, Jenn Birch, for making this day possible and for taking the time to fill our cups so that we can continue to pour into those of our clients!

We hear the word ā€œresilienceā€ used quite a bit, but at Birch Therapy, we often use it when describing parental resilience. For caregivers, strengthening our resilience through education, peer support, and honest reflection can be vital as we navigate the often complex and exhausting aspects of parenting. We hope you will join one of our Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) groups so that you can benefit from this amazing curriculum and connect with other parents who ā€œget itā€. It’s not too late to fill out the inquiry form today! Read our full blog post on Parental Resilience on our website birchtherapypllc.com/blog
