Our office is closed today in observance of the holiday, but our appreciation for you never takes a day off.

If you can, take a little time for yourself today. You deserve it. We'll be back tomorrow, ready to continue our support.

Meet Kathy Montero, a caregiver whose own search for support blossomed into something beautiful. Today, she leads two thriving support groups in Cary and Apex, welcoming caregivers just like you.

Kathy's story is a reminder that you don't have to have it all figured out to make a difference or to find comfort. She shares gentle wisdom on deep listening, building community, and even finding laughter on the hardest days.

We think her story will warm your heart.

There's something hopeful about a new season beginning, and it's a gentle reminder that small changes can make a big difference.

As routines shift with the fall, try keeping your loved one's day as familiar and predictable as you can. Consistent mealtimes, a comforting morning routine, and calm evenings can ease confusion and bring more peace to both of you.

You don't have to change everything at once. Just one small routine, strengthened with love, is all you need.

As National Wellness Month comes to a close, we hope you've had a chance to pause, breathe, and remember that your well-being is essential.

The small moments of self-care you've discovered this month don't have to end with August. Carry these practices into September and beyond. You deserve to prioritize your health as much as you prioritize caring for your loved one.

What's one thing you did for yourself this month? Share with us in the comments. We'd love to celebrate you.

Making Connections in Our Community. Our Education and Outreach Manager, Lisa Hughes, was out at the National Senior Citizens Day Expo at Bill Crisp Senior Center in Fayetteville recently, connecting with over 400 members of the senior community!

Lisa shared information about DANC services, including dementia education, navigation support, support group connections, and our My Music NC program. It was a beautiful day of connection, resources, and celebration. A great opportunity to remind our community that support is here when you need it. We're grateful for Lisa's dedication to bringing DANC into the heart of our community.

Catch Lisa at Guardian Angel Thrift Inc.'s Memory Cafe today at 11:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
