One of the hardest parts of this industry that people don’t talk about enough… is the emotional side of it. 💔
When you’ve done someone’s hair for years, through every season of life, it becomes more than just an appointment. You hear about the heartbreaks, the divorces, the highs, the lows. You celebrate wins together, give advice, laugh, cry, and build real friendships along the way. You watch their kids grow up in your chair. Their family becomes part of your life too.
So when one day you realize they went somewhere else, it’s not about “losing a client.” It genuinely feels like a silent breakup you never saw coming. And the hardest part is not even knowing if you did something wrong.
We do stay very busy, booked up with clients, and you would probably think we wouldn’t even notice… but that’s just how much people become a part of your life. We think about them often and pray for them when we say we are.
As hairstylists, we aren’t just service providers. We’re humans with feelings, hearts, and connections to the people who sit in our chairs. And sometimes this career can hurt in ways people don’t realize.
Just one of the quiet downsides of a career built so much on relationships. 🤍Thank you to all my loyal guest most of you have become extended family.
