“Homeschool Day” at the Poe Center is designed exclusively for homeschool students providing opportunities to interact with peers and other co-ops, while engaging in the Poe Center’s effective and immersive health-science programs. This unique, interactive, and affordable experience offers engaging learning for a range of ages.

Is a youth in your life interested in learning how to positively support friends and family who may be experiencing stressful life challenges?

Register them for our FREE training! This training is designed for middle school students between the ages of 11-14.

Our Healthy Decision Making for Managing Stress program uses the evidence-based Community Resiliency Model® to explain the impact trauma and chronic stress have on the nervous system. Through engaging hands-on activities and discussions, participants will leave empowered with the practical tools to build healthy habits, manage stress, and enhance resilience within themselves and others.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Holly Springs Community Center – Program Room A, 301 Stinson Ave Holly Springs, NC 27540
COST: This program is presented at no charge for attendees. Registration is required.

This engaging, skills-based program is designed for middle school students. It blends the evidence-based Community Resiliency Model ® (CRM) with youth-friendly activities and discussion. Participants will leave empowered to support their own well-being and the well-being of their peers.

Spectrum News 1 North Carolina recently highlighted the Poe Center's new Traffic Safety Course. Designed for kindergarteners through eighth-graders, this course teaches important road safety skills such as how to read traffic signs and road markings. Participants can also practice safely navigating the streets of a simulated town via bicycle or scooter.

The Traffic Safety Course is the first of its kind in Wake County, and is open to the public on weekends. The Poe Center also welcomes teachers and other education professionals to book a traffic safety program for students.

Did you know? Our trusted-adult & child program, Guy Talk, equips boys with accurate age-appropriate information developed to help with healthy growth and development.

In this interactive workshop, topics include the changes which happen during puberty, the reproductive systems, proper nutrition and hygiene, and online safety. Engaging activities make this an interactive and meaningful experience. Guy Talk has been specifically designed with activities that foster and encourage open parent/trusted adult-son communication.
