We don't just compound prescriptions. We also dispense prescriptions, just like any other retail pharmacy. The only difference is we do it faster and with better service. No line. Curbside. I got a question the other day that I think many might have at some point: "I took a couple of Ibuprofen tablets for headache earlier and saw that the expiration date was 2 months ago. Should I be concerned? What happens when a medication expires?"

My answer:
Most likely no problem. Medications don't promptly turn bad at midnight of the expiration date. Their potency might be reduced, but they're unlikely to become toxic or harmful if properly stored.

I would not use expired medications knowingly, especially for important maintenance medications or injections. But a couple of barely expired ibuprofen tablets should not be a cause for concern.
