Green Vision Inc. Turning e-waste into opportunity for adults with developmental disabilities through electronics recycling and hands-on skill-building in Northern NJ.

Green Vision Inc. is a Northern New Jersey nonprofit that combines electronics recycling with structured skill-building for adults with developmental disabilities. At our Randolph and Lafayette campuses, participants work alongside trained staff in a real recycling operation, building routines, tool skills, focus, communication, confidence, and greater independence. Green Vision also provides electronics recycling for businesses, schools, hospitals, municipalities, and local residents. Every device processed supports both environmental responsibility and hands-on program work. Randolph Campus: 8 Emery Ave, Randolph, NJ 07869

Lafayette Campus: 197 NJ-94, Lafayette Township, NJ 07848

Brian and Nick. Eight years at our Randolph campus, and still this happy to see each other. 💚

The recycling floor gives each day its structure. The friendships people build here matter just as much.

Chris is a PS5 guy at home, so taking apart an old PlayStation 2 this week was right up his alley.

He got it all the way open, down to the cooling fan, the circuit board, the little motors, and the metal inside. He even found a DVD still sitting in the drive from whoever had it last.

He was pretty happy with that one.

Missed Sussex County's e-waste drop-off day on October 3? You don't have to wait a whole year for the next one!

We accept electronics drop-offs every weekday, all year long. Bring your old computers, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, cables, and most other electronics to either our Lafayette or Randolph campus, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM. No appointment needed, no cost for accepted items, and your drop-off is tax-deductible, just ask for a receipt.

Everything you drop off is taken apart by hand at our campus by adults with developmental disabilities building hands-on skills, routine, and confidence in our programs, then sorted for responsible recycling so it stays out of the landfill.

That's the part that makes a Green Vision drop-off different. Your old electronics get handled responsibly and support skill-building for adults in our community, all in one stop.

Look for the contact-free rolling bin near the front entrance at either location.

We're hiring at Green Vision! ♻️

We're looking for a full-time Program & Operations Assistant at our Lafayette campus.

This is a hands-on role supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through their day, helping them build skills, confidence, communication, and greater independence, while keeping our electronics recycling operation running smoothly.

It's a good fit for someone patient, organized, and genuinely motivated by supporting people. You don't need any experience in electronics recycling or dismantling, we'll teach you that. Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Big table days might be our favorite kind of day here in Lafayette.

That’s when the benches come together into one long table and the crew spreads out side by side, hands-on with the electronics. More conversation, more shared space, more of the easy rhythm that makes a good day. Today was one of them!

Tim came to play and rock out with the crew, right at the tables with everyone else. His hat says THE DISMANTLERS for a reason. 🛠️ 🎸

Days like this are what it’s all about. 💚

"A great day for Chris is when we walk in and everyone says hi."

That's Carolyn, Chris's mom, on his days at our Lafayette campus.

Chris joined this year. He's made new friends, his favorite thing to take apart is the monitor, and he keeps a steady stream of song requests going all day, with "Fast Car" near the top of the list. The friendships, his mom says, have been the biggest change.

For a lot of families around Sussex County, the hardest part after high school is figuring out what comes next.

"It's a one-of-a-kind program that helps strengthen self-confidence and friendships, with an exceptional staff who make it enjoyable every day."

Tours are open at our Lafayette campus if you'd like to see a day for yourself.

Andrew at our Lafayette campus, taking apart one of his favorites.

Monitors are one of the pieces he likes to dismantle most. Back panel first, one screw at a time into the bowl, then the housing comes off and the boards come out. By the end, one monitor is sorted into four things: wire, an LCD board, a mixed grade board, and an end tip.

Each type gets boxed with the same type until there’s enough to send to our downstream recycling partners. That’s the last slide, a few hundred boards deep.

That’s a Zombies tee, by the way. He’s a big fan. 🎸

Dali and Ben at our Randolph campus, heads down on the same board. Gloves on, one screwdriver between them and a mess of wires and relays to sort out.

Some things just come apart easier with a second set of hands!

Twenty-five years later.

From all of us at Green Vision, we remember the lives lost, the families who carry that day still, and the first responders who ran toward the danger.

Today we pause with the rest of our community to honor them.
