Week 19 is full of lots of changes. These pictures were taken this past Monday. The trusses are built, so we needed to gut out the milkhouse. Mark told me last night that was a tough day for him and fought tears all afternoon. Joseph kept him busy with block and mortar. The glass block and concrete headers across the windows are all from the old barn. On Saturday we got a letter from the builder to put the top on...he backed out. It didn't surprise us as he told us he never built a hip roof barn. He's helped with them but not in charge. He did include a list of names for us to contact. Mark made calls Monday morning. We have heard back from one. One thing we've noticed about the Amish, they will be honest if a job is too big or challenging for them. We had it happen with the old barn too. This week was two steps forward, one step back.
