👏Celebrating 500 robotic-assisted surgeries!

Jefferson Medical Center recently marked a significant milestone, completing its 500th robotic-assisted procedure since launching the program in 2024.

Our robotic-assisted surgery program brings the expertise and judgment of our surgeons together with innovative robotic platforms, providing patients with minimally invasive treatment options here in our own community. Stroke risk increases with age, and awareness and prevention steps can make a life-saving difference.

Our upcoming Mini Med School session, on Sept. 14, will feature a presentation from WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Neuroradiologist Michael Czaplicki, DO, about a major risk factor — carotid artery disease.

Attendees will learn how the condition contributes to stroke, how to recognize risk factors, and how new treatments and research are helping prevent strokes.
