Mental Health Awareness Month may be coming to a close, but the importance of mental health lasts all year long. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿง

In rural communities, conversations around mental health can sometimes feel difficult to start. Stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and emotional exhaustion often go unnoticed or untreated simply because people feel they have to โ€œpush through itโ€ alone. ๐ŸŒพ

The truth is, mental health is just as important as physical health.

At River Valley Primary Care Services, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate behavioral healthcare close to home. Thatโ€™s why behavioral health providers are available at all RVPCS clinic locations to help support patients and families throughout our communities. ๐Ÿฅ

Seeking help is not weakness. Talking to someone, asking questions, and prioritizing your wellbeing can make a real difference. ๐Ÿค

If you or someone you know may be struggling, we encourage you to reach out. You do not have to face it alone.

๐Ÿš‘ Today is EMS Recognition Day as part of National EMS Week

๐ŸฉบWe want to recognize and thank the EMS professionals who serve our communities day and night. These individuals respond during emergencies, provide lifesaving care, and show compassion during some of the hardest moments people experience.

Many EMS professionals are also family members of our RVPCS team, and today we are proud to spotlight a few of those special connections.

๐ŸŒŸ Special Spotlight: Daniel Rosson
Daniel Rosson, husband of Peggy Rosson, APRN, at our Ratcliff clinic, has worked as a Paramedic for both Franklin and Johnson Counties since 2008. Before becoming a licensed Paramedic, he also worked as an EMT, dedicating years of service to helping those in need throughout our River Valley area communities.

๐ŸŒŸ Special Spotlight: Marshall Gattis
Marshall Gattis, husband of Ashley Gattis, APRN, at Clarksville Community Health Center, is a Flight Paramedic for AirEvac 22 located in Clarksville and has worked in EMS for more than 30 years ๐Ÿš

Ashley shared:
โ€œEveryone in EMS knows him and loves him! We canโ€™t go anywhere without people recognizing him and wanting to talk to him. I tell him itโ€™s like being married to a politician ๐Ÿ˜‚ but even though he works so hard, he always has time for me and our five children! Heโ€™s an amazing paramedic but an even better husband and dad!โ€

Thank you to Daniel, Marshall, and ALL EMS professionals for the sacrifices you make and the care you provide every single day. Your dedication helps save lives and strengthen our communities. ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿšจ HANTAVIRUS is making headlines right now, and itโ€™s a good reminder that staying healthy starts with prevention.

Whether youโ€™re traveling, camping, cleaning out storage spaces, or spending more time outdoors this season:

๐Ÿงผ Practice safe cleaning habits
๐Ÿญ Avoid contact with rodent droppings or nesting areas
๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Air out closed spaces before cleaning
๐Ÿฉบ Donโ€™t ignore symptoms like fever, fatigue, or trouble breathing

Many illnesses can start with mild symptoms, which is why regular checkups and having a primary care provider matter year-round, not just when something feels serious.

Your health is worth staying proactive about. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿง  May is Stroke Risk Awareness Month

A stroke can happen suddenly, often without warning signs people recognize ahead of time. Thatโ€™s why understanding your risk and catching possible concerns early can make a major difference.

A Transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasound is a quick, non-invasive outpatient test that helps evaluate blood flow in the brain and can assist in assessing stroke risk.

โœ”๏ธ Safe
โœ”๏ธ Effective
โœ”๏ธ Diagnostic
โœ”๏ธ No surgery or downtime

Early detection gives you the opportunity to take action before a medical emergency happens.

Know your risk. Take control of your health. ๐Ÿฉบ

Many health conditions can be easier to treat when caught early, and regular checkups help you stay informed about your health before problems become bigger.

Whether itโ€™s been 6 months or 6 years, today is a good reminder to schedule that appointment. Your health matters. ๐Ÿ’•

Today we recognize the people who keep healthcare moving, our nurses. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ“‹

National Nurses Day traces back to the birthday of Florence Nightingale, whose work during the Crimean War helped shape modern nursing as we know it today. Her impact set the foundation for a profession built on both science and compassion.

Nurses are often the first to notice when something changes. They monitor patient status, coordinate care across teams ๐Ÿค, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks in fast-moving clinical environments ๐Ÿฅ.

They administer treatments ๐Ÿ’‰, track critical details ๐Ÿ“Š, educate patients and families, and provide steady support through both routine care and urgent situations โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน.

Their work is constant, detailed, and essential to every part of patient care.

Today is about recognizing that dedication, skill, and presence they bring.

Thank you to all nurses for what you do, every single day.
