SEPTEMBER IS PCOS/PMOS AWARENESS MONTH
You may be familiar with the term PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome), but you may start seeing a new name: PMOS/Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
The terminology is evolving to better reflect what this condition actually is. PCOS/PMOS is not simply an ovarian or reproductive issue, it involves hormones and metabolism and can affect the entire body.
Symptoms can look very different from woman to woman and may include:
Irregular or absent periods
Acne or unwanted hair growth
Difficulty losing weight
Irregular or absent periods
Hair loss
Insulin resistance
Fatigue, and more.
And far too many women spend years being told that these symptoms are simply something they have to live with.
You don’t. ❤️
Your symptoms matter. Your hormones matter. And you deserve to understand what’s happening in your body.
