Got allergies?
I’ll be joining the vendors at the Body in Balance Health Fair next month, Sept 19th! I’ll be bringing our healthy teas, herbs, salves, tinctures, glycerites, books, and more! Each week between now and then, I’ll feature a product and its benefits. This week I’m talking about our Allergy Buster Blend! This blend is one of my very first creations, all the way back to 2010, and has been a best seller ever since it was put on the shelf! Why? Because we have pollen here in Texas. Lots of allergens, molds, seasonal plants (ragweed 🤧) and dust!

These ingredients are very helpful in reducing the effect these irritants can cause in our sinuses. Made with Nettles, Elderberries, Elder flowers, Eyebright, and Goldenrod! Add some local honey if you need to!

You can find more information from the website here:

Or you can come see me next month at the health fair and we can talk more about it!

Each week between now and then, I’ll feature a product and its benefits. This week I’m talking about our Cough Away tea blend which truly helps to diminish that urge to cough!

Made with Elderberries (anti-viral), Marshmallow root (demulcent and soothing), Mullein (nutritive to the lungs), Wild Cherry bark (suppresses spasmodic hacking coughs), Cinnamon (warming), Licorice (soothing) and Elecampane (persistent, ticklish coughs).

Safe and effective for all ages! We originally created this blend as a Children’s Tea, but found it was just as effective for adults!

I’ll be joining the vendors at the Body in Balance Health Fair next month, Sept 19th! I’ll be bringing our healthy teas, herbs, salves, tinctures, glycerites, books, and more! Each week between now and then, I’ll feature a product and its benefits. This week I’m talking about out NORA tea blend which helps with healthy pregnancy!

NORA tea is a nutrient-dense, mineral-rich infusion that supports every stage of the reproductive journey — from building reserves preconception to postpartum recovery. Each herb plays a distinct role: nettle strengthens the blood and kidneys, oatstraw nourishes the nervous system, raspberry leaf tones the uterus, and alfalfa aids digestion and blood sugar balance. Together, they create a deeply restorative ritual for hormone harmony and vitality.

This classic blend is beloved by midwives, herbalists, and mamas-to-be for good reason. NORA stands for nettle, oatstraw, red raspberry leaf, and alfalfa – four nutrient-dense, mineral-rich herbs that deeply nourish your body with a special affinity for the reproductive system.

While popularized in midwifery circles as a pregnancy tonic, NORA tea is SO much more than that! It’s a foundational blend for hormone balance, fertility, and whole-body vitality. It’s no surprise that we love a food-first approach to nutrient support, and this simple tea is an absolute staple!

It's Lammas Eve--the holiday that celebrates the first harvest, a time of hope and fear. The grain is growing tall and heavy in the field, but much can still go wrong before we bring it safely into the barn. Years ago, when I wrote The Fifth Sacred Thing, I called it the Time of the Reaper, scythe to the ripe grain, the wind that whips the spark across the fire line. Not punishment, not even justice, but consequence. When we inherit 5000 years of postponed results.

And tonight, a fire burns close to my home in Sonoma County. My land partners are on evacuation watch, trying to decide how to bring the cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, feral cats and all the humans to safety. I'm checking for updates on various apps, and sending prayers of gratitude to our firefighters and for all the work our community has done over these last years to reduce the fuel loads and make our area safer. Safer, but never safe, when we still have 5000 years of postponed results to reap, as the climate grows ever hotter and the world more dangerous.

It's Lammas, a time to bake bread and celebrate the grain, and I am in an ecovillage, Grain et Sens, where they grow their own wheat, mill it and bake bread that feeds the neighborhood. I have so many fears for my home, for the baked and burning world, for those who are fleeing not the wildfires of nature, which in the end are renewing, but the malicious fires of bombs and war.

But I also have hope. The firefighters are working around the clock. The Resistance is rising. For every act of cruelty, there are dozens of neighbors protecting neighbors. The year is turning, and if we survive these times of fire and dnager, the rains will come and renew the land.
