A real client testimonial from a “not so” real animated avatar. My real client is a baddie from Texas that can out-lift anyone I have ever known and less of an HRC wannabe. And she’s got the best puns anywhere within 500 miles of the border. Thank you, JC. 🙏🏻❤️

Clients and friends - Medicare Advantage plans(aka Part C) might see some cuts to their additional benefits in 2027 - such as rides to doctors, gym memberships, dental and vision and food benefits(often applies to Medicaid recipients). Humana and other carriers have indicated the increase the government will fund MAPD plans - by 2.48% in 2027 - might not be enough to maintain these "extras" and they may have to reduce some types of additional benefits like I mention above. This is NOT concrete at the time and the government may STILL end up further increasing their contribution for 2027 - stay tuned. However, this is a time to GO TO THE DENTIST, schedule a RIDE to the doctor and GO TO THE GYM for exercise or at the very least work out at your home or around your community. Ultimately, even if these benefits are reduced what usually is most important to you are your doctors and Rx. While you may hear about cuts throughout the year - and we always will - just keep in mind what's most important to you in your plan. Have a nice weekend. Go outside!

Millions of people choose to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan because of the extra benefits included, like gym memberships, vision and dental coverage and more. But according to Reuters, Humana—one of the largest Medicare Advantage insurers—might cut those benefits if the federal government's...

Some summer updates and thoughts on Medicare in 2026. Part D max and deductible, Med Supplement price increases, PPOs, Part B givebacks and what they are. (This is not short. Be careful. 🙂 Have a good week.

Success story! I NEVER advocate for one Medicare strategy or carrier plan choice over another however I will always present what I feel is most appropriate based on a conversation with a client. Thanks to a referral from another existing client on a Medicare Advantage PPO, I was introduced to a new 76 year old client who had been on an expensive Medicare Supplement(approx $300 monthly) and Part D($94 monthly ) - both annually rising in price - since she was 65. When we spoke more about the Medicare Advantage PPO option and its affordability I discovered she only sees ONE doctor, takes ONE prescription drug, is in very good health, likes her immediate area for healthcare and was frugal(even though she has very ample means).
At the time of turning 65 she was ONLY introduced to a Medicare Supplement and Part D plan and while there were not yet many, if any, Medicare Advantage PPO plans in the marketplace, she did not have someone to advise her annually or advocate in her best interests.
After our consultation we discovered the $11/month PPO option was a wonderful fit for her and her needs. The high MOOP(max out of pocket), if ever needed, would be offset by the savings of premiums in year one and beyond. Going forward she may be saving up to almost $4,596 every year when major expenses are not needed.
Find your fit.
