Are you interested in learning more about the El Segundo Blue Butterfly?

In partnership with South Bay Parkland Conservancy (SBPC), BCHD invites you to join us for our next Moai Social Event: El Segundo Blue Butterfly Walk.

The walk will be hosted by Ann Dalkey, SBPC Advisory Board Member and Esplanade Bluff Restoration Project Biologist and Mary Simun, SBPC Board Member. We will spend one hour walking and talking and discussing the habitat, plants, and learning about the El Segundo Blue Butterfly.

We are offering QPR Su***de Prevention Training this July and welcome you to join us!

QPR Su***de Prevention Training helps individuals recognize warning signs of a su***de crisis and how to Question, Persuade and Refer someone to help. Learn skills to engage someone in crisis to discuss their distress, provide hope and refer them to someone who can formally assess and intervene.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take home a free Narcan (common brand name of naloxone) kit, a life-saving opioid reversal medication when administered immediately after a potential opioid overdose.

Join our newest Potluck Moai! 🙂

A Moai® (pronounced “Mo-Eye”) is a group of people meeting for a common purpose and can include activities like walking, purpose discussions and potluck meals. The world’s longest-lived people chose – or were born into – social circles that supported healthy behaviors, including Okinawans, who created “Moais” – groups of five friends that committed to each other for life. Parkette potluck moai members will meet once a month at a local parkette, to bring a homemade vegetarian dish & recipe for all to share.
