Can Antibiotics Help with Pancreatic Cancer?
Congrats to Dr. Aimee Lucas of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai whose JAMA Oncology article suggests that antibiotics might help patients who received gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer.

Interesting, some antibiotics, while primarily used to treat bacterial infections, have shown anticancer effects due to their interference with cellular processes in both bacteria and cancer cells and are already standard of care for some cancers, including doxorubicin, bleomycin, actinomycin D, and mitomycin C.
That said, apparently cancers being sensitive to antibiotics is rather the exception than rule. That's another reason why SageMedic has developed our SAGE Oncotest™, where we can identify the most effective treatment for cancer patients using a fresh, live cancer biopsy within just 1 week.
