Stephania Humphrey

Stephania Humphrey I am a British trained manual osteopath and founder of B-Well, a manual osteopathic practice. She is an educator to those wanting a healthier, happier life.

At B-Well we help people recover from injuries or illness with hands on care, strength and mobility work and emotional awareness and mindfulness. Stephania is a San Francisco-based wellness coach & British trained manual osteopath. Upon graduating from her masters education, she travels the world learning from her peers and different cultures. Her passion is mentoring people to transform bad habit

s into lasting positive ones. She is part of their journey step by step. Through her holistic approach to wellbeing, Steph has learned that complete health starts with nourishment and knowledge. Helping someone understand how their body and mind works can change their mindset, then they accomplish reaching their full potential in all areas of their lives. This includes health, movement, relationships and productivity. As a manual osteopath, Steph can physically realign the body in ways we can’t do ourselves. This removes previous physical limitations and has a tremendous emotionally uplifting consequence. Complete wellbeing and pain free state ensues. Techniques include: myofascial release, mobilzation, stretching, SCS, cranial osteopathy, trigger point release, OMT. Her mission is to spread the latest research and science in health. With her knowledge, training, and creativity, Steph creates individualized nutrition plans and workouts, as well as manual therapy sessions, designed to help anyone reach their goals; be it to lose weight, become healthier, move more easily, sleep better, or train for specific events. Steph will support and guide you step by step. When Steph isn’t busy coaching or doing bodywork, or learning about the latest concepts in healthy living, she shares her tools by writing and lecturing on how to live without fear and continuous boundless energy. She savors each precious moment she gets with her fun loving Frenchie, Havana cat and adoring husband.

The worst thing you can do, is to stop moving! If you’re injured, move, stretch, walk, slowly and gently. If you can’t do your usual training, try something new - Pilates, yoga, circuit training, new form of cardio. Your body is constantly changing and so your routine and caring for it must evolve and adapt with it too. You can do it!! And express yourself, like this guy! He’s awesome! 🤩 with thanks to for all the years of her hard work with us at B-Well!

The tissue we used to throw away… and now can’t stop studying.

For decades, fascia was discarded during dissections — cut through, brushed aside, labeled “unimportant.”
Today, fascia is one of the fastest-growing fields in anatomy and pain science, reshaping how we treat the body.

The latest research (2023–2025) shows:

✨ Fascia is alive, dynamic, contractile, and packed with sensory nerve endings. It communicates continuously with the nervous system.
✨ It houses immune cells and plays a role in inflammation, healing, and chronic pain.
✨ Fascia links every organ, muscle, nerve, and vessel into one continuous mechanical + neurological system.
✨ Micro-imaging shows fascia behaves like a liquid crystal network, transmitting force, tension, and vibration in milliseconds.
✨ Restrictions in one region can change load patterns throughout the body — explaining why jaw tension can affect your pelvis, or why abdominal scarring affects breathing.Image from

The Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) +

✨ Meet Your Gut’s Housekeeping System: The

Have you heard of the Migrating Motor Complex?
It’s one of the most important — yet least talked about — systems in your digestive health.

The MMC is a rhythmic, sweeping motion that moves through your small intestine every 90–120 minutes between meals. Its job?
🧹 Clear out bacteria
🧼 Sweep debris
🚫 Prevent SIBO + keep recurrence low

But here’s the catch:
The MMC is highly sensitive to stress, past infections, physical/emotional trauma, and even chemical exposures. When it slows down, motility drops, and your risk for SIBO goes up — even after you’ve treated it.

How to support your MMC naturally:
• 🕰️ Leave space between meals (3–4 hours)
• 🎧 Vagus nerve activation (humming, gargling, cold exposure)
• 🚶‍♀️ Daily movement — walks are magic
• 🌬️ Breathwork — especially long exhales
• 🤲 Osteopathic visceral + vagus nerve work to restore rhythm and mobility

If you struggle with bloating, early fullness, chronic constipation, or recurrent SIBO, supporting the MMC is non-negotiable.

This is one of my favorite things to treat because the results can be transformational.

Vitamin B Deficiency & Nerve Pain

⚡ Tingling, burning, numbness, or weird nerve pain? Check your B vitamins.

Vitamin B deficiencies — especially B1, B6, B9, and B12 — can show up as:
• Numbness + tingling in hands/feet
• Burning nerve pain
• Muscle weakness
• Fatigue that feels “deep”
• Dizziness or balance issues
• Anxiety + irritability
• Poor wound healing

Why?
Because B vitamins are essential for nerve conduction and repair. When levels drop, nerves literally misfire.

Who’s at risk?
– People with gut issues (SIBO, IBS, low stomach acid)
– Vegans/vegetarians
– People under chronic stress
– Anyone on acid blockers or metformin
– Postpartum individuals
– Those with autoimmune or inflammatory conditions

Not sure? Ask your doctor for tests:
• Serum B12
• MMA (methylmalonic acid — more accurate)
• Homocysteine
• RBC folate
• B6 levels
• Intrinsic factor + parietal cell antibodies if malabsorption is suspected

The beautiful thing: once corrected, nerve symptoms often improve dramatically ❤️‍🩹

❤️‍🩹 ? You still need to move. Just differently.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is:
👉 “I’m injured, so I need to rest completely.”

The body doesn’t heal through stillness — it heals through appropriate movement.

Movement increases circulation, stimulates lymph flow, enhances collagen remodeling, and keeps your nervous system from going into protection mode.

What you need is adapted movement, not avoidance.

Examples:
• Sprained ankle? → Foot-ankle mobility + light isometrics
• Low back strain? → Breathwork + pelvic control + gentle walking + swimming
• Shoulder irritation? → Scapular activation + pain-free range work
• Post-surgical? → Guided, progressive loading

shines here because we look at the whole kinetic chain, not just the painful area.

The goal is always: keep the body moving, keep the nervous system calm, and reintroduce load at the right pace.

Your body is not fragile — it just needs the right plan.

The new practice is almost complete!

I love seeing growth and evolution. The cycle of life (growth, maintenance, decomposition) is a natural cycle that occurs in small ways many times throughout the day, and in larger ways, such as with large projects (such as this remodel!).

What are some things you experienced recently, that required a death or break down phase, in order to create something new?

Just like how our body’s cells know when to create, thrive and die, then new cells show up in place, there is a wisdom inherent in all things we build. We just need to listen carefully, grieve what was, and get excited (not fearful) about something totally new. This is growth!
